So I got given a pair of saddle bags for free yesterday so fitted them today :) The bikes a bit grubby and needs a clean but I personally think they look good! Weird as I've never been to keen on luggage before :D

Your garden is MASSIVE!

Saves putting a rucksack on, & theres more space how do they hold up at speed?
Does the front end feel any lighter? Try not to keep looking in your mirrors just throw your hand back instead keeps you focus on the road.

They look good, id have had them on my 125 if i could.

Thanks for the comments! :)

My garden is pretty big but i guess it's just an advantage of living in the countryside and buying a big plot of land with a shitty house on it, demolishing the house and building a new house which isnt quite so shitty! haha The Car is my nans as she lives with us. The front end still felt the same but I havn't loaded them up with much yet, may have to re-position as they are resting slightly on the indicators but they aren't much wider than the handlebars so ill still give filtering a shot :)

Ill try the hand thing as I do keep worrying about them flying off! Seem to be fine though :)

They look great. :) I only use saddlebags when traveling though. I love having my tail pack on at all times though for every day items and storing the occasional purchase.

ToastToGo's post just reminded me of something.

Be careful of the panniers damaging the bikes paintwork, I left a set of panniers on my 125 for two years, when I took them off a few weeks ago I realised just how much damage they had done! Never doing that again. Just make sure the anti-scratch mat is kept grit free!

No one ever adds saddle bags to make a bike look good - well, not unless you're a luggage fetishist like Extreme601 or something :P They're added to provide function that would otherwise not be possible.

Having said that, they look good on the bike and don't look out of place at all :)

After Riding 80 miles today I removed them after reading your post to discover this problem! There is one spot where paint has been slightly faded as the back of the saddlebags seems abrasive where it's meant to grip but in reality just slides about :/ I think ill be putting a cloth under them next time! Thanks for the warning, you've saved me some pain and cash :D

Yeh I didnt put them on for the hell of it :D I had to get the back home from my girlfriends aunt and uncles house and I decided I actually quite like them! Extreme 601 has a serious problem with his luggage loving, especially the top box :P ...but I do sort of see where he's comming from now!

Go buy some neoprene and use that rather than just some random cloth. It will help hold them in place and keep them from moving around to scratch stuff as well as actually being a scratch-resistant barrier.

Turbo grip works the best.

Following both your recomendations i went out today and found somthing! :) Cant remember what it's called as didnt realy look much at the packaging but it's intended exactly for this purpose, some kind of foam/rubber mesh :D
