Here's the latest article from my local paper

:...
"A 55-year-old Broadwater man was killed early Saturday morning after he swerved to avoid a deer, lost control of his 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and rolled over into a ditch. Michael Hall died at the scene of the accident about 12:15 a.m. on Nebraska 92 about a mile east of the small town of Melbeta, said Lt. Jamey Balthazor with the Nebraska State Patrol's office in Scottsbluff. Hall was wearing a helmet, Balthazor said. The Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office assisted with the accident investigation.
So far, there have been 10 traffic fatalities in June, six involving motorcycles, according to the highway safety section of the Nebraska Department of Roads. The traffic fatality toll for the year is 92."
...about a month ago, all of the message board signs along the highways here said "Watch out for motorcycles". Tons of them on the road without drivers watching. Here's another one:
"A 56-year-old Seward man died Monday, six days after his motorcycle hit a pickup near Milford. Mark A. Porter was riding his 2005 Yamaha north on 280th Street where it intersects with Interstate 80 about 3:45 p.m. June 10 when the pickup pulled out in front of him. He hit the Chevy S-10 driven by 20-year-old Matthew J. Wilson of Plattsburg, New York, the Seward County Sheriff's Office said. Rescue workers took Porter to Seward Memorial Hospital and later transferred him to Bryan West Campus in Lincoln, where he remained in critical condition for several days.
Zabka Funeral Home in Seward is handling Porter’s funeral arrangements. Investigators think Wilson was crossing 280th Street to get back onto Interstate 80 because he was following another driver. Wilson told authorities he didn't see Porter's bike. Porter tried to dodge the truck but hit the driver's side door. Wilson's family members, who were ahead of him on the on ramp, called 911, the sheriff's office said. Porter was wearing a helmet but suffered severe head injuries.
The sheriff's office continues to investigate. Seward County Attorney Wendy Elston could not be reached for comment Monday on whether charges will be filed."
Sad, sad, sad ~_~ .....
