Serious Rospa - Road Positioning Tutorial.

What do you think?

Pretty steady! Spotted a redundant shoulder check in there though ;)

PS, fixed your "rosa" tag you had for the thread :)

Although in correcting it, I see why it happened, you're not using a Mac by any chance are you?!

Are you training to become a RoSPA tutor at the moment, or are you a tutor and just having a periodic tutor assessment?

I am Lurch, I'm going out with a tutor trainer, just to get used to coms riding.... And use a Mac.

Hi Shifty,

Did you overlay the commentary on the video ? All seems a tad slow and drap (Sorry ). It depends on the level your aiming at but lots missed on the commentary and vocally identifying hazards/observations too late. Ref positioning, try splitting the lane up into sections 1 being close to the near side while 10 is close to the kerb on the offside of the opposite carriageway rather then keep left/right etc. Nice first try thou. Just needs more energy and polish and a "feel for the ride"

Great feedback, you are correct it wasn't a full observational ride. If you read the title again just corner positioning. The commentary was overlayed as the original commentary was not centred on just cornering. We don't need to split the road in to ten ha ha!we do split it into four. But again that's not for that Vlog. Will do lane positioning on a warmer day !

I hate doing commentary when riding to the road, can't do it naturally. If I back off I can do it. There's a commentary vid from my early days of training made as a response to someone else, and so much is after the fact!!

One question @Shifty , where's the cam positioned on the bike for this?

The camera is mounted on the underside of the front cowling below the ram air intake. It gives a good Tarmac perspective.
I already had a mic and coms for the commentary as I was riding with a tutor trainer so I put the mic behind the screen. Wouldn't fit anywhere else.
It was good to do afterwards actually I could just split out the positioning talk. I also find that I'm busy concentrating when riding so talking is more difficult.
