He was the first motor vlogger i'd ever heard of. The first guy I subscribed to.

RIP Sven and thank you for introducing me to the wonderful world of watching motovlogs.

My thoughts are with your family.

My condolance to his family and friends! He was one of my first motovloggers i subbed and gave me the insperation to do it myself...
Ride safe there up in heaven bro!

Ive been away from motovlog for ages so its a bit weird to see the new (to me) site, its nice to see some familiar names in amongst the ones i dont recognise. Its kinda made me realise how important it is to remember a big reason a lot of the guys on this site took up vlogging/biking is people like Sven, hes definatly inspired me for one and i hope he can find peace now riding like a hooligan down gods pristine greenlanes. Hopefully we can all put aside any grudges or grievances any of us may have had with Sven and give our condolences to his family and friends.

RIP Sven, hopefully we can pester Scram into taking us to your "scottish laird land" and paying our respects.

The news really hit me hard yesterday, made even worse by the suggestion it may have been a suicide. It feels odd saying that last week he posted a video on his channel. I still can't believe what has happened.

If anything, my condolences go out to his family. I can't possibly imagine how difficult this time is for his kids.

RIP Sven (Steve).

I mis-read, the police said they were investigating whether or not he had taken his own life, i am sorry.

Such a shame in all, he was such an awesome guy to watch online and talk too. Really enojoyed our meet up and short time i was around in the vlogging scence with him.

I wanted to wait a few days before posting this to get my thoughts in order…I also had to deal with another death, one in my family, this week, so it’s been a weird week to say the least.

I met Sven/Steve online several years ago, and in fact, one of my first videos was a response to one of his videos. I had the honor of him mentioning me and using my “Sven is like Batman!” quote based off of that response. That opened a dialogue between the two of us. We talked back and forth about religion, video equipment, travelling, families, and other things. One of Steve’s other handles was “OneLungWarrior” and that’s another thing we shared…I’ve had part of my left lung removed just like him. We certainly had plenty of differences of opinion: We argued about forum moderation, YouTube subscription tactics, and plenty of other things, but at the end of the day there was plenty of mutual respect. I extended an invitation to my home to him should he ever be in my neighborhood and he did the same for me, however unlikely that was.

Since his passing, I’ve heard that he was encouraging people to sign up at motovlog and get involved in the community, and that really warms my heart. I am glad that our differences of opinion didn’t cause him to drive people away from our little corner of the Internet.

The last time I talked to Sven was during the whole hacking scandal that took m13online and motovlog v1.0 down. I was annoyed with the whole affair, but realized that it wasn’t Steve’s fault. Shortly thereafter, I had heard he wasn’t doing well and I asked a local guy to check up on Steve. I never really heard a reply. I would occasionally see a post on facebook or whatever and assume he was OK.

At this point we all know that family relationships are tough. If you’re mad at or hurt by someone in your family, take the chance to put yourself out there and try to mend that bridge. Even if your relationship with your family is great, take the chance today to give someone a hug and tell them you care.

Like pretty much everyone else, I’ll miss Steve. A whole lot.

Very well put mate, I guess at some point we've all lost someone close to us suddenly, and unexpectantly. And things like this always remind us that you never know when it will be your turn, and that we should live life accordingly, to the full.

Anybody going to the funeral?

Funeral will be at Bramcote Crematorium at 11am on Feb 16th.

Personally didn't know him well enough :( I make an effort not to meet people for the first time at their funeral!
