Replying To Trolls

Once I get annoyed with them after having played a bit I ask them to keep on commenting as they are improving my ratings on Youtube every time they comment. They leave very soon after that.
That's the one I meant, +swissmotard it wasn't the views but the ratings it improves :-D but don't thumb down decrease the ratings too?

They probably troll multiple videos every day. If you never respond they will forget they even posted on your channel (unless they subscribe). Or if you have the time, just play with them. They want you to lose your temper, so always reply with calm and calculated responses. Take the high ground, that really annoys their little brains.
Do they get a notification if I delete their comments?

Nope, the only thing that decreases rating is when someone turns off your video after a short time watching it.

Thumbs down boosts your ratings as long as they have watched a decent chunk of your video.

Controversial videos that generate discussion and views are of great interest to YouTube.

Not heard of YT studio, I've just got the regular YT app which is, quite frankly rubbish for anything but watching, liking and leaving a one off comment.

its not really worth replying, some days its a good way to get your frustrations out.

also +1 on the studio app. its fudging amazing

Yeah, I know. The regular YT app is complete S@*t. Unfortunately I've been restricted to it since I'm rarely at a computer and out and about. The YT studio thing sounds like it might be worth a sho though

I find the studio app rubbish for comments. There are still comments from weeks ago that I've read and replied to that haven't yet showed up on the studio app.

That said, for analytics it's brilliant. Expecially the realtime views feature.

Can't say I've had the same problems, but who knows with Google!

Certainly seems to me that they can't commit to a single 'behaviour'.

I get notifications from Google+, Gmail and YouTube. And all do different things when I click on them to respond!

I wouldn't bother to delete the comment(s). Easiest thing to do is to not reply/respond, but if you feel you must, make it a funny one. At least it will be entertaining for anyone else reading.

Should you respond to negative comments, or just leave them?

So I'm a bit of a newbie, I've only been motovlogging for a couple of months, but I've just gotten to the point where my vids have started to attract the attention of trolls.

I've never tried that before, and I find myself fighting the urge to reply sacarstically. I'm guessing I'm not the only one, what do you usually do?

Dunno if someone has said this, so I apologize if I'm repeating.

Try not to over analyze what people are saying online via text. What you perceive as negative, might have been meant as a positive.
Best practice, when in doubt, don't respond OR say something polite, like "Thanks for the support, comment, response"
If someone is blatantly being rude to you, by directly saying so, then just ignore it. It's even easier when it's blatant.

Better to be on the right than the wrong. Don't let what people say get you down.
Remember this, you don't owe anyone anything. (per-se)

I find the videos that get trolled (not on you tube but forums) get more view i think i causes curiosity ..but i quite like a troll because they rarely speak with intelligence ...and even rarer do they have a youtube channel so those that can DO those that can't TROLL ...and i doubt many will be so brave in the pub
