General Red Light Jumper - Shadenfruede?

I have a feeling it was the cyclist commenting. But I also feel he may have been aiming for revisionist history of his own actions: he honestly believes he tried to stop in time, despite what the footage shows.

This video has now hit the websites of national newpapers... [it's on Metro and The Mirror so far]

He rides what is called a fixie - there isn't even usually a front brake. You stop by stopping pedalling and skidding if necessary.
Having a front brake is often seem as cowardice on one. They're track bikes.

He's a bloody idiot

I'd suggest there should be some rules about cycles on the road, including brakes, yet since some cyclists can't manage to sort out lights.

I wonder what the stats are for cyclists who ride "legally" on suitable bikes vs the others who don't give a toss.

Time to get off those high horses and just put it down to one idiot, rather than go on a mission against all cyclists. Starting to sound like a cager anti-bike thread

Well, this video's fallout is something I never expected to be dealing with when I started vlogging.
Over 600k views and counting, worldwide media interest, and now needing to deal with copyright infringement from national newspapers: they're monetising my content without permission.

Can anyone give me a rock to hide under, please?

You need an agent :)
That I could afford one.
I'm not even taking any money personally for the infringements. I'm ordering them to donate to various charities instead.
I've even got the Telegraph to agree to help pay for repairs to the cyclist's bike [but they asked to use the content first]

Now that's very nicely done sir, good on you! Ask them to fit an extra brake while they're at it :)

I'd call that instant Karma, if cyclists want to use the same roads as us then they should abide the sale rules in my opinion.

Thanks I knew that. But I didn't knew that Schadenfreue ist a word wich is beeing used by english language people. ;) Interesting.

Sorry for beeing OT.

It's incorrectly cited as a word with no English equivalent, so it's actually a pretty well known German word here and is used regularly. Just Like Déjà vu in French.

The bike looks like it barely even slowed down .. did he have a pint too many??
