Recommended Power Banks?

Any recommend power banks to extend battery life? Something small enough to hide in the front pocket if possible.

I'm not sure how much power the go pro eats, but it dies after a 1 hour ride.

I thought they lasted longer than that? I have a Drift camera and their batteries are good for around 3 hours. Are you shooting at a higher res and frame rate?

My GoPro 3 can do 2-3 hours @ 1080p30.

The batteries range from between 1050 and 1200mAh in GoPros. So a powerbank should have at least 4-5 amps to give so you can extend the battery life by 3x minimum. AndyManCam runs a Noco XGB6 which is both rainproof and has decent capacity, so you can mount on the helmet too if you want. Should be pretty snug in a pocket.
Either way, what matters is capacity, I can't recommend anything specific as I dunno what is available in 'murica, but look for more than 20w or 4amp capacity and you should be good. Bonus if it's kinda rugged.

Hope it helps.

I run it at 1080 60fps for clean video. I thought I would be longer too. I wonder if my battery is bad.

anker 16k mah. Not too much bigger than a smart phone. I get 30 hours out of it. It was 60 bucks on amazon.

I think you're on to something with that. Definitely check it out. 1080p 60 is pretty standard, so it shouldn't draw out that much power.

Depends which GoPro you have too, plus how old the battery is, but the newer ones don't seem to last, basing that on anecdotal evidence.

I am planning on recording a 24hr ride, so I had to go with the bigger one, but at least this way I dont have to worry about charging it over a busy riding weekend either.

I think I will need a bigger memory card if I plan on recording that long.

I decided to go with the Anker PowerCore 26800. For $60 that's a good deal. I can put it in my backpack. I'm sure 26800 would last me all day.

I have a Vinsic 30k mA.

It's a brick, but I brought my Git2 out to Canada's wonderland and spent the day taking timelapses and on-ride, and I think I used like 10% in 8 hours.

You really don't need a huge pack to triple your battery life
3-5 mAh will do you fine.
