I always wanted to see more people talk about the RC51, but there just aren't many videos of them. I give a little review of what it is like to own Honda's V-twin RC51 sportbike.

Haven't watched the video yet, so not sure if its mentioned, but is this the SP1 or SP2? I've always loved the look and nuts reputation of this bike.

Great video, I'm considering buying one, but I'm not sure if I could live with the fuel mileage!!

What's the gas milage on them :o ??? Also, how would you say early '00's bike technology compares to mid '00 technology :o (you kind'a mentioned it in this vlog, but not in detail :p ;) ). I totally agree with what you said towards the end - it's all about personality... and I think that's the way it should be ;) heh...

Another nice vlog :) - great job ^^ !

I haven't really calculated it, probably high 20s to 30s (in mpg) depending on riding style and gearing.

There are exceptions to the rule and this is not by any means all encompassing but in general...
Early 2000s bikes were heavy on their feet, and many were still carb'd or had primitive FI systems. Power was delivered by brute force and the chassis didn't handle as well. By the mid 2000s you had lighter and more powerful bikes that were more like the bikes we have today than the late 90s/early 2000s models. More of them had better fueling/power delivery and suspension that was more controllable from better valving and lighter weight.

Engine control, suspension geometry and center of gravity have progressed throughout the years tremendously.

Ah, glad to hear my bike isn't an antique in that case, yet :p heh. In the MSF course, they taught us about carbureted motorcycles, although the ones we had were little, fuel injected, tiny things :p . My old '86 Toyota pickup used to carbureted... learned the hard way not to use ethanol on it ~_~ . How things change :o ~

Anyways, thanks much for your reply ^_^ !
