I agree. Unfortunately with our warped justice system if any vigilante bikers get lifted, they'll be locked up and the thieves will walk away with compensation. Planting a bait bike also won't result in conviction as it's entrapment.

I welcome any kind of action against bike theft, but whatever happens I still don't believe it'll be enough to put off the organised criminals. It may scare off the petty thieves and joyriders, but not a lot gets in the way of the gangs that are involved. We'd need an all out war for any REAL result.

Something needs to be done, there just isn't an easy win.

You know what, I think all bikes should be sold with trackers in the frames. I think knowing that every bike out there can be traced to an exact location is a better deterrent than any lock or security system. Nowadays these trackers send a text to your phone if it's moved while you're away from it, instant alert to it being stolen. Then send a mob of police or a load of your mates to get it back
