Pulled over for speeding
Today's vlog attempt didn't go so well, so I thought I'd share a recent video instead.

The temperature didn't climb as much as was forecasted. My mouth was too cold to talk properly. Almost felt like a post-dentist visit. lol

Re: Pulled over for speeding

Seemed like a decent guy. Glad he didn't ticket you. It's not like you were being unsafe, riding like a hooligan or anything.

Yeah, I got lucky. He was nice enough about it. He could have pulled the car in front of me over as well, but I think the odds were in favor of the biker having multiple infractions (license, registration, inspection etc in addition to the speeding)

Lucky for me I keep all up to date. *phew* :D

Also, as it turns out, he was wrong in the direction of the intersection I was looking for.

Re: Pulled over for speeding

You generally are a lot better off when pulled over by a State Trooper vs a city cop. Troopers are more concerned with serious crap and not hell-bent on bolstering the city coffers.

This was the first time pulled over by a Trooper. I've been pulled over by city cops and let go in the same way. So I can't say one is better than the other for sure.

Seems like a top fella. Lucky bugger lol

I'd like to think I talked myself out of it with sharp wit and charm.. but I guess the video proves otherwise.

As the saying goes, I'd rather be lucky than good!

Witness to a minor accident

The girl that was driving was apologizing to the guy in her *own* car. Both of them are jerks IMO for not getting out immediately to check on the condition of the driver they hit. It's minor, but you can still see how his head whips back from the impact. At the last possible moment, the girl makes a half-hearted attempt to get out..

Shame you can't see their faces in the video. The guy in the car with her had the angriest look on his face and was giving her an earful. Oh well.. I'm just glad she wasn't behind ME!

Re: Witness to a minor accident

Did the guy not want their details? I'm surprised there was no damage.

He seemed satisfied enough that wasn't any/enough damage to warrant filing a claim I guess. I've been involved in a similar incident and we both agreed it wasn't worth filing. It happens. :)

Dealing with stripped spark plug threads on a wr250x

Another night ride.. How I dealt with stripped spark plug threads. Exciting, I know. Sadly no boobs were encountered to help this tale along. :-P

Personal Best Top Speed

Not a voice vlog, but a texty overlay. :-P They don't allow helmet mounted cams, so I have to figure out how I want to record voice while on the track.

A personal best top speed for me.

so jealous of everyone who lives near a track :(

Awww. I'd have to move closer to a track if it were me. Then again, you might end up farther from some epic water crossings.

Yeah, stock, uncorrected dashes are *crap* at highway speeds and above. Off by as much as 10%  The dash in my video is a GPS datalogger and is very accurate. 8-)

My 675 is an '07, with stock gearing, max speed possible is ~152mph/244kph. At this track with stock gearing, I was barely reaching 6th before having to shut off. It's just geared too tall unless you have an airstrip available for a speed run. But even then, wind drag would most likely prevent you from fully maxing out.

I've shortened the gearing slightly, -1 on the front. Max speed possible is ~ 142mph/228kph. With the benefit of a draft, I was able to get pretty darn close to that. A bit further and I would have been on the rev limiter.

'06 gsxr stock gearing = 155mph/249kph Max. So you were prolly in the 240's kmh. :D 245kmh * 10% error puts you right at 270kmh indicated.

** different tire brands can have slightly different circumferences that would affect theoretical max speeds from stock.
