Hey guys,

This is generally aimed at UK drivers/riders, as I'm not sure if the Provisional Licencing regulations apply to other countries, but, how long did it take you to get your licence?

I sent away my form and got a return form giving me my birth certificate back, and saying it should be up to 10 days before I get my licence, though, with my insulin controlled diabetes, it may take longer. It's been over two weeks since I got that, and I've still heard and got nothing from the DVLA, other that my vehicle registration document. If it's not here within a week from now, I'll probably be calling them up and seeing where it's gone.

So, is it just me who's getting it a little late, or, has this sort of thing happened to anybody else?

Thanks,

Doug

anything govt related can take ages :) . Take your own advice and wait it out another week, then get in touch. If i remember mine took a few weeks to arrive, so don't expect anything quickly.

Cool. ha Had a few "mail-less" days recently, thought it might have got lost or something. I guess I'm just a bit impatient to get my CBT done. Thanks Roger.. i-if that's your real name? lol

Oh, god. Got a latter from DVLA today, after over-all a month+ of waiting.. and it's a medical questionnare. Fantastic. NOW I get the form which could well stop me from getting a licence due to my type 1 Diabetes. Fantastic. I hate DVLA..

I didn't know type 1 diabetes stopped you from driving?

It shouldn't, though, your licence is only valid for 1-3 years, and you have to continually get it renewed. I'm not sure why they needed to ask me everything they do here, as it's all available in my health register anyway. Blergh.. never knew getting a provisional was so hard. -.-

Also looking through the paperwork, I need to go for a full eye examination. They really couldn't have mentioned any of this before..

It all depends on how long it takes them to get back to me after I've sent away my med' info. A bit annoyed though. Over a month of my insurance is gone now, and all the bike's done is sat in my back garden the entire time. Guh. >< Thanks for all the comments and support 'n' stuff though guys. :)

Holy shit, I have type 1 diabetes too. I got my provisional about 3-4 months ago. It took about a month to come. I told them that I had type 1 diabetes when I applied and they sent me a form to say wh my GP is so he can confirm that Im able to drive/ride.
Then they sent me the license a few weeks later.
It took me about a month to get it thats it.

Well, the whole story with me is; sent away form, got it sent back as I forgot to send my birth cert'. Got a reply two weeks later confirming they got it and had cashed the check, etc. and that after checking medical records, it should be here within 10 days or so. 3 weeks later, and now I just got this medical form. Majorly pissed off with them, especially if it takes another two weeks. Guh..

Hola again. Still didn't have licence by today, gave a call in. Apparently my medical information is in the "queue", and it may take up to 90 working days for me to get my licence.. I am beyond mad. Oh well, guess I won't be motovlogging for a good while yet..

Oh, and to top it all off, the e-mail for complaints they sent us in the mail (along with some other things) isn't even a valid e-mail address. -.-
