Posting "sped Up" Videos

What is everyone's opinion on videos that are noticeably speed up by the Uploader? Not necessarily to create the illusion that they are moving faster than they actually are, but more just another kind of editing technique. I'm talking about the entire video being being playing at a faster speed, not just parts of it.

I'd say not for general videos. If it's sped up as in "20 miles in two minutes" for whatever reason then maybe, but some people don't like watching sped up footage for that long, especially if the image isn't that stable.

Yeah, I wouldn't bother, if you're not talking at all in those 20 miles and the scenery isn't great, no exciting riding etc I'd just cut it until something does happen.

If the scenery is great with some nice twisty roads, no need for talking or speeding up imo.

Yeah, I wouldn't go for speeding up a whole video.. Maybe just sections to show a quick A-B commute to backup what you were talking about earlier in the vid, though.

Generally not fond of sped up videos, unless you are trying to summarize something like a time lapse effect, it's makes people dizzy watching sped up videos I think.

Why not try it and see the response?

I was going to, but in the end I got annoyed by the faster playback before it even came to uploading haha. I posted the video today, however it was at normal playback speed :)

I was editing it at the faster speed and found a few parts quite funny, so I was thinking about leaving it at that (didn't end up happening). I sort of sounded like a young Jay leno with the high pitched voice haha

Whats the purpose?

I like to add in sped up clips from time to time for entertainment and by sped up I mean as fast as vegas allows

Clips inserted here an there is fine imo. Time lapses are also cool, but prolly not an entire vid in fast forward.
