Yeah, that doesn't look too bad @HippoDrone ... I sure wish I could find a way to make one so simple... it'd probably save me loads of time in the editor

Yeah, I feel the same way, but for some reason, I just can't help myself!!!I have spent a lot more effort on some edits, just to find they get hardly any views... is kind of frustrating, so generally keep it simple and then if it tanks, at least I know it didn't cost me a night of effort!![]()
Yep, and that's the sticky wicket I'veI guess it also sets the bar for you, if you put all the effort in on each vid, then that is the norm so it is the required effort!![]()
A night... wow. When my editing gets complex, I won't be able to complete it in one day for sure. Then again, I don't have the persistency to edit for more than 2-3 hours straight. So it could easily take few days just to prep the footage from 360 camera, before I get to actual editing.I have spent a lot more effort on some edits, just to find they get hardly any views... is kind of frustrating, so generally keep it simple and then if it tanks, at least I know it didn't cost me a night of effort!![]()
AMEN! I usually export the 360 footage while I work, so it's ready to set up in the multicam clips when I'm ready to edit... or are you framing it in the Insta/GoPro app and then exporting?A night... wow. Dude, I felt that comment. Storage is my biggest issue right now. I have 2 external drives - 4TB and 8TB, and both are pretty much full of archived footage at this point. My 1TB SSD is full of current projects, and I've got a bit stored on my internal 1TB SSD, which is half full.I frame it in the insta app and then export only the bits that I might realistically use in the edit.
edit: that is mainly due to hard drive space. the raw files take a lot of space already, I have already been deleting the ones I am done with, unlike my action camera footage, I usually have kept for a year or two.
I have heard that... so I try to keep a couple hundred gigs free on it... right now there's only 106GB free though. I will have a couple of projects finished up soon, and then move footage off the drive. You know SSDs should never be full or even almost full. That increases the amount of read&write cycles on their normal use and that in turn shortens the life of the drive. It is even recommended, that you leave a percentage of the drive unpartitioned.
I keep my footage on HDD, I use proxy clips (because my PC is old and slow, as I keep mentioning) and those will be on the SSD, for speed of use, until I am done with the edit, then I will delete them.
I LOVE IT!A more complicated video as I was working in a multi-cam set up with five tracks of video and sound.

I only keep footage from the last 12 months, although have kept a few other vids that were special to me. I doubt I'll watch them again, and if I did, I'd do so on YouTube. I only keep the last 12 months content in case I get around to recording a new intro trailer for the channel.Storage - ya, I didn't think that would be an issue but I've already got close to 1tb on my backup drive. What files do you guys trash? I have pretty much everything I've ever recorded and all the project files and rendered videos. I probably don't need all that but I have a hard time hitting delete.
I'm trying to only keep 12 months of footage, but damn do I record a lot! I'm at about 10 months of footage and the drives are fullI only keep footage from the last 12 months, although have kept a few other vids that were special to me. Well I'm at like 5 months and well over 1tb, but I keep EVERYTHING, raw footage, project files, rendered .mp4 I'm thinking of not keeping the rendered files once they're uploaded, I can always render them again or download back off youtube....hmmmmI'm trying to only keep 12 months of footage, but damn do I record a lot! Yeah, I'm keeping all that... and I have about 9 or 10TB of footage stored right now, maybe closer to 12TB [I haven't really calculated it, but it's averaging 1.5TB/month]Well I'm at like 5 months and well over 1tb, but I keep EVERYTHING, raw footage, project files, rendered .mp4 I'm thinking of not keeping the rendered files once they're uploaded, I can always render them again or download back off youtube....hmmmm
