Pimping My Stuff.

2016 Solar Bear Champion.
OK guys and gals I'm after some advice on what I should do with my channel / vlogs.

So far I've found that I'm just not really getting anywhere with what I am doing, and yes I understand it all takes time and I've only really just started,

I feel I have engaged in the community where possible but still don't seem to be getting anywhere.

So I have a few basic questions.

Personally I think my into is a little too basic. Does anyone think that something more fancy would be better.

I have tried a "product review" type video which have got a few views so not sure if I should keep doing that as well or not.

I have a facebook page that seems to do nothing, should I pimp this more or just stick to pimping youtube.

Is there anytihing to be gained from instagram and twitter accounts?

I'm not sure I am tagging my videos with the correct tags to get them picked up in searches. Should I just tag everything I can think of or be a little more selective.

And finally am I just a boring kind of guy. I realize I'm not offering anything new to people but should I be looking for some kind of angle to my videos to make them stand out.

Falling off worked well but thats not a great plan is it.

I do plan on doing the solar bear challenge to assist and may look around for some other things.

Now be totally honest with me. My chanel link is on my sig.

You're not the only one mate. My FB page is dead despite having 3k+ subscribers on YouTube (this is dropping every week).

Honestly I think simply releasing videos more consistently (if you aren't already) and keeping up with the more popular vloggers such as RJ, Chase, Baron etc and joining in with any challenges that might come up.

Another thing is to make a channel trailer and send it in to RJ or Premises. Some of the more well known vloggers do a subscriber spotlight to help the smaller channels get some publicity and it works. I got a spotlight on one of RJs videos and within about a week my subs went from something like 300 to 3500.

Fancy intros/outtros doesn't hold much weight (it's only 6-10 seconds of your video), video content should be the one that holds most (if not all) of the weight. Seems like you might be trying to please everyone out there and expect some immediate results.

My personal thought would be to focus on yourself, do what you like to do for your videos, make videos that you would actually be interested to watch yourself, at least you will know it is engaging for yourself, so there just might be some others out there that feel the same.

Trying to get your 60 seconds spotlight on the famous / superstars channel will help for a bit, but as you can tell, those subs might not all be permanent. Better to grow slow and steady rather than a spike but flattens out. Again, this is where your content plays a huge role.

Being spread out on multiple social platforms is not a must, but a good way to reach out to others, or for them to reach out to you. I created the FB page because I didn't want to mix it up with my own personal FB, I made Instragram because I found out some user was using my logo and people were thinking that was me, so I had to make one. Twitter as I have mentioned elsewhere is something I have no care for to use nor understand how to. So turn to yourself now and ask yourself do you really need these other social platforms, maybe not right now, you could lay them dormant (no need to delete/remove) till you feel it is time to kick it alive once again.

Sorry for the long reply, I understand if people TL; DR. :)

Commenting on other people's videos is helpful. Doesn't have to be famous people, just people who are into what you're into. Doing collaboration videos with people is also a good way to cross over to other viewers who haven't seen you, too. Facebook is making it harder and harder for your original content to get views. I've heard of people having luck with Twitter and Instagram, but I don't really mess with those as much. I have 200,000 total views on my channel and half of them are on one video of me getting hit by a car, so really, it's content that draws views. The subscribers I have that are the most engaging are people who I talk to on forums and other YouTube videos, though. I'm not good at being social, but there is a lot to that.

I'll let you know on the collaboration as I've just done my first one with other vloggers, but that was more to meet new people than to advertise.

Being active on here gets you in with a chance to get promoted on the right of every page which can help get you noticed.
