Name a place or thing to take a picture with your bike. First person to go out, take, and post the picture picks the next challenge. Must be a picture taken after the challenge picked. Try not to make it impossible. no photochops. If nobody else gets the picture within 1 week the person that picked it can choose a new one. New challenge must be picked when picture of the last one was posted


I'll make an easy one to start

Take a picture of your bike outside of a drive-thru of some sorts. (drive-thru car wash or mcdonalds whatever)

I could have taken this at work, too, with pretty bikes. But, we were slammed today and I forgot. So, I stopped at the local corner bar on my way home. Sure enough-- Harleys!

OK, so here we go - the couple pictures in front of a well

Bit of description...

It looks more like a bathtub than a fountain, but has basically the same sunken shape as the St. John’s Well. The inscription on the other side of the lion reads: “Fountain Hall 1st August 1857. Water springs for man and beast / at your service I am here / although six thousand years of age / I am caller clean and clear. Erected for the inhabitants of the world by Alexander Fidler.” (“Caller” means “cool, fresh, refreshing”).

Alexander Fidler erected this well on the 200th anniversary of the death of Dr. William Guild. Guild was a Presbyterian minister who was Principal of King’s College, Aberdeen until Cromwell’s men came to visit in 1651. He apparently was well-loved for his benevolence to Aberdeen, and is commemorated by Guild Street and also by the William Guild building at King’s College, now part of the University of Aberdeen.

WHAT?!?!?!? NNNOOOOO!!!!!!!



Dude. I just went out and did the well one. It was sooo windy out that when I first was going to take the picture by the street, the bike blew over in the crazy wind. Broke the mirror, both turn signals, bent the brake pedal, gashed up the muffler, and ruined my expensive Fox helmet (which was hanging on the handlebar on the side that hit the ground). I was soooo mad, as it was literally everything I had just replaced/fixed on this bike, and I had just got that helmet back from my parents' house in Chicago, where I left it last December.


So, I wheeled the bike up and leaned it up against the well (much safer). And dammit, I'm posting the picture anyway, since it just cost me about $350 in damages, modest estimate...

As an aside, this is a picture game, so the more pics we get the better! Even if you don't win the challenge, if you still got the pic you should show it on here, anyway. At least you get something for making the effort, then!

That was my understanding of the game - the point of it is for someone to set a challenge and for others to be encouraged to go out riding and have a little bit of a point to it, so even if someone else posted a well (yay, I was first - in your face, lol :lol: ), it's still worthwhile doing it and posting as you've achieved the whole point in the first place. Besides - completely different kind of wells, so that's cool too

I got a great pic playing this game when I took some of my bike by a ford (the water type, not the car!), so I think I'll give you buggers the chance to do the same this weekend, so:
