Picking a mono mic

I have a Drift 720, which as is widely known, has no external mic jack. I decided to put one in in place of the existing jack, but somehow missed the fact that the audio-technica 3350 is stereo. The drift 720 is mono, so I need a new mic.
Many of the mono mics I've found, require power from the device it's using, or an external power source. Since I'm very new to vlogging and know next to nothing, how do I find a mic that will work with the Drift 720 and not need external power, or absolutely suck the life out of my camera's batteries ?
Just some basic info to get me in the right direction would be great. I just don't even know where to start looking, or what to look for.

Sure did. Now I just gotta get it all mounted up and figure out how to run the wires.
Thanks for the response. Idk why I didn't think of just using an adapter but I appreciate it!

You can always steal power from the camera's batteries. It's not like a mic consumes any power, just a few milliamps from a transistor inside the mic.
For my 1080 I just went the super cheap as in "free" way and butchered a Motorola cellphone Headset. It works excellent.
