My first attempts :)
Well two uploads done in the past few weeks.

http://youtu.be/q2bYFcz4cDY
http://youtu.be/yCeUBSzB3gw

Slowly getting better at using Sony Vegas, im being lazy with the background music and so far keeping the same track :)

Only issue i have is finding the highlights of my journey to work as i do the editing in bulk.

I wish i bought a cam that sets markers for easy reference, maybe need to do some overtime.

Anyway guys let me know what you think and what i can improve.

Re: My first attempts :)

Have a few comments on your first video, but before I make them I want you to consider why I make them. I'm NOT making these comments to be a dick or have a go, but rather because if you take heed of them they MIGHT save your life…

OK, here goes - you do need to realise that most car/van drivers are not aware of vehicles that might be passing quicker than them on their left hand side. You don't appear to allow for this, particularly with the white van towards the end. The van driver was originally signalling left despite being in the right hand lane. Either he was confused about wtf he was doing or he was intending in coming in - either way as the smaller and more difficult to see - you should allow him more space. After all - while in some cases you might be in the right, as a bike rider you'll usually end up worst off in any collision.

The Audi driver was a bit of an idiot (surprise? lol!), but even then you didn't allow space for them to be an idiot safely.

Please remember that while in many cases you might be in the right, it's you that'll pay the consequences and lying in hospital saying "but they were in the wrong" is small consolation.

I hope you receive this in the way that it was intended.

Cheers,
Yarek.

Re: My first attempts :)

Thanx Yarek,

It does make a lot of sense, I see these videos as lessons for myself! But suggestions from other riders are always welcome

With both vehicles I saw what was coming, and to be honest I didn't give enough room just in case!

Re: My first attempts :)

I agree with Yarek. A lot of those near misses could have been avoided by not going on the left and looking at car signals better.

On top of what Yarek said, it's also illegal to overtake on the left. That's why a lot of people won't be expecting it. Even when the road is splitting and the left lane goes off somewhere else, its still illegal to undertake.

My evening to work

Hey all,

Thank you to all that commented on my bad riding skills last time. I never get constructive criticism as I am the only one riding at the time. :)

I am walked away and learnt from my mistakes and improved on them. (Hopefully)

Not much video in the last month, was busy passing my MOD 2 and picking up my Duke 690

Well here is a short clip of my filter to work last night. I am learning to avoid Taxis lol
