Thanks. I got the feeling he needed someone to listen.

I can't imagine buying a bike only to have it act up. He seemed to really want to get back into riding so I hope he got it fixed.

I've stopped a few times over the years to see if bikers along the side of the road needed help. Never actually came across someone who did, they have always either been peeing, or searching through bags, or just stretching legs.
