Old Map, Please See new Sticky Above | MotoVloggers Map of the World - with ZeeMaps

I'm not adding myself yet because I haven't actually started blogging yet but it seems as though you've all avoided the north east of England like the plague! Haha, there are even fewer now than there were on the old map :P

Finally added myself.
The ONLY motovlogger from portugal? Cant be right.... :D

EDIT: Second vlogger - castregjo 67 is also from portugal.
But hes so far up north I though he was in Spain :D

Ye.
Fortunatly, I am a gamer since the spectrum days, so I had to learn english or not play.
And when I was a teen, my dad introduced me to books written by a certain Mr Isaac Asimov.
Which I read damn nearly ALL of them.
So now I got a "switch" in my head that I can flip and start speaking and thinking in English. It gets to the point where I dont know a portuguese word, but now it in English.
But still, Vlogging was a chance to keep practicing English, and learn what vocabulary I did not have. Like for example, the common word for the catalytic converter on an exhaust; the correct tense of "I had just awoken/awaken/awakened", and stuff like that.

But that all goes down the drain when I get angry or startled - sometimes I revert back to portuguese, or a incredibly funny mix of portuguese and english. (havent uploaded that yet - too embarrasing).

Plus, in portugal tv shows are subtitles, so we are used to the english language.
That is why most portuguese understand (even those that cant speak it correctly) english.
On the other hand, countries that redub their tv shows (like spain and france) have horrible english accents, and few people learning the lang. My friends and I still burst out laughing (whatever the circumstance - I've done it at a funeral and we were 5 guys laughing our asses off) when we remember watching the Terminator1 in spain...
"Yo Voltarei..."

Im a pc gamer also if u mean that. I learn some english playing Call Of Duty 4 online , Warcraft III and also WoW. I'm watching so much english youtube vids etc. For example Top Gear translated to Polish have no sense and i prefer watching it original at youtube :D I've got some problem with thinking in english when im recording.. so i didnt up any vlog yet.

Read books.
That helps IMMENSELY.

Try Isaac Asimov (hes dead, but he did write over 700 books). Just grab ANY book from Asimov, I garantee you'll like it. Amazon should have them.

You can also grab the Game Of Thrones books. It helps if you have watched the TV series, so you have an idea on whats going on, and it also helps your vocabulary. And with books you begin to think in English - it get tiresome to read and translate and assimilate. Easier to simply read and assimilate.
If you'r into Science Fiction, try grabbing some "Battletech" books - they are great, and with a Sci-Fi Universe thats so coherent that it makes Starwars look like it's been written by toddlers.

Of course, it helps that Portuguese is a much more complex language than english... (our verbal conjugations are like the french ones - 6 persons (I, you, they, we you(plural) them) times a gazillion verbal tenses (4 past tenses, 3 future tenses, 5 presents). And all the verbs are what the english call the irregular verbs. Those are the normal ones. Then we got the irregular verbs (to be, to do, to have, etc) that have no easy way to figure out what word to use.
So yeah, English is very easy to learn after that.

Spain ... me ...nooo, where I live Portugal begins :)
not that I don't like Spain/Galiza, go there a lot petrol is cheaper there :))
Cheers 8-)

Just added myself... Even though I am not on a bike yet I think I am just a little part of the community. I'll get there eventually, and hopefully convert my wife to the eternal bonds of bikehood too when the time comes. Might have to work on that one though!
