New Motorcycle App

Has anyone else checked out the WeRide app yet? It's pretty cool and has some good features! Let me know what ya think???

I just found it the other day. Really interesting concept, I just wish there were more people in my area using it to connect with.

I'm with Logan, not many users in my area. Doesn't help that the application doesn't ask you to fill in the full profile with your city and stuff.

I used it, but not a big fan. Its only really interesting if you know ppl around you or if you are on a group tour that doesn t stick 100% together.
If you don t have a cigarette lighter on your bike the GPS will kill your phones battery very fast :P

Some of my German friends have talked about a bunch of aps. and there are many that will track your route, max speed, average time, lean angle etc.

also saw eatsleepride (apple only till now and not free)

has an interesting feature that wil send an automatic sms to a preprogrammed number when you "crash" but a friend wrote that he added his GFs number and pretty much every knee dragging curve she got an sms :P

(PS also cost 6 Euro a year, that feature)

It's interesting the tracker included in the app, where you can do a trip, log it by GPS and publish it so other people will find it when they're near your area. It'll be even more interesting if you could import trips not tracked by this particular app. I'd rather use ViewRanger to track and export my trip to every app than use this particular one and leave the track in just one place without the ability to use it anywhere else.
I still don't have much experience using my new phone's GPS and don't know how much the battery lasts while using it but in my other phone, using only the GPS, all other radios disconnected, I got up to 6 hours if the phone didn't hang and die before.
Also, I can't decide between tracking with the phone or a "real" GPS. I find the phone somehow unreliable. In some twisty routes the signal got cut badly for a few minutes, after reviewing the GPX file it seems like I went in a helicopter trough the mountains.

I've used Endomondo for a tracking app. It's meant for joggers, cyclists, etc. but works well for motorbikes too. Friends can track you live. It's accurate enough that as I arrived home from a 2 week trip, my wife opened the garage door for me, just as I was riding down our street.

I'll have to look into that one. I used EverTrail for a bit, but didn't really care enough about publishing my routes, and the data was sometimes WAY off (i.e. I apparently hit 678 mph on my 250 Ninja on one ride haha).
