New Helmet!

Just bought the Lazer Monaco Roadster helmet, flip front, photo chromatic visor, bluetooth, pinlock.

Sees very comfy, just sussing out where to fit the Drift as the front covers a lot of the side, but GoPro mount adaption I think is coming to the rescue and hope to get out on it in a couple of days time!

I think chin space for mounting a GoPro will be a factor in all my future helmet purchases.

My Shoei GT Air is a bit difficult for that.

Yep, but having listened back it was crap anyway. And gave me a headache watching it. Deleted that bit!

But....the human eye is brilliant and can rearrange things in many ways, but watching my footage through upside down is fascinating, if not vomit-inducing. Will put up a couple of minute clip just at slow speed and filtering.

Very nice gloves though, Richa Cold somethings, gore-tex, yellow bits, plenty of padding and plenty of protection. Only thing missing is the little wind screen wiper of rubber on the left first finger.

I elected for waterproof GoreTex gloves rather than full padded ones where I mess up using the indicator. I've got hand deflectors and heated grips, so it's not too bad for wind chill.

Why not? It's DOT and ECE tested and approved, so meets at least the minimum standards. It's also SHARP 4 star rated.

I first saw the photochromatic visor's on Bell helmets, thought they were so cool. Ended up going with AGV K3 after all though and they don't have a photochromatic visor for that model unfortunately. Would definitely come in handy when riding around as the suns going down. Have you had a chance to try it out? How'd you find it?

Off out tomorrow! Comfy indoors ;)

Hopefully I've got the Drift mic placed well to vlog a review. It's in a very similar place to my Nolan, so the only other risk is wind noise. Lazer made efforts on weight not quietness although they say their Bluetooth kit is good for 120kmh, so we should be OK I hope!

Cheers!

Oh I know the ratings and everything, I'm just stuck on solid full face helmets. It adds a moving piece over your face; so my fear is falling forward and hitting that piece hard enough to snap it up and melt my face. I realize they're generally reinforced with steel/metal in there, it's ust...meh.

Youve got to wonder what that kind of force would do to your neck whichever helmet you wore. If it can burst a locking front...

This helmet has been homologated as both flip and jet, so tested in both positions, whatever they do to test helmets...

Don't forget the extra statistic that they put in for System helmets. The Percentage of times the lid stayed SHUT during impact. All flip fronts were NOT created equal! Caberg desfinitely seems to be winning that race by a country mile at the moment. Sadly their helmets are too 'short' for my Jimmy Hill Chin and beard!

I'm in the same category as you Andy. My old Cabery V2 was a great fit though, the Duke and Justissimo are tight to my chin.

I had a Justissimo about 8 years ago (I still have it actually!) that fitted ok. It was a little close, but OK. In my opinion the Duke is a good looking lid and great price too. But it's SO much tighter than my old Justissimo.

The only reason I know that my chin hasn't just gotten bigger is because I still have the old one for reference!

I've got my eye on some kind of Enduro/dual sport/moto-X styled helmet now for some extra beard space. Like an AGV X8-Dual Evo or an X-Lite x-551. Just waiting for a sack of money to fall from the sky...

Flip helmets scare me to death.
These are a few of my helmets
