New Avatar and Signature

What do you guys think of the new avatar and signature for the forum? Im no expert in design but I wacked a couple things up together and played around with the fonts until I found something I like..

Does anything need changing to it or how could I improve it?

All suggestions welcome!

Very cool, are you trying to get a transparency effect on the word Story? If you are i would include some refractal light off the green and a possible light source/shine running across it to, give it that tank pad kinda see through style!

Thanks for feedback! I'm still working on it and developing new ways. I've also just only started using photoshop so I don't know all the ins and outs yet. I got the glass effect from a tutorial i found online.

I definitely will, I've also just downloaded AE and found a website which provide free templates to be edited. Creating a short intro with exploding text etc.

Also as much as I ask for help, unless you physically show me, I probably wouldn't understand. Which is why I tend to follow tutorials on youtube.

I read the thread 'Whats your daily job' (or something to do with occupation) and yours was in design... why don't you make quick tutorials for a separate channel on youtube? Or is it just something your not interested in or don't have the time for it?

I wprked in ad agencies for 12 years in total, this year a new healthier career path presented itself to me so i took it. After so long under constant deadline pressures you get burnt out. Now i do freelance design for clients i choose to take on, regardless of money it's more about how genuine the client is. I've worked with brands such as Disney, Marvel etc and believe me 18 hr days start becoming expected and well it impacted every other factor of my life. Funny thing is i used to come home and watch random junk and i found vlogging, which became my therapy for some reason so i try give back to the community where i can. I'm currently designing some logo's and youtube channel art, stickers etc for some of the guys. With my new career it's just time, and when it comes to design tutorials i work to quickly to slow it down and explain every single move i do i guess, to many years showing the junior designers how to do stuff gets infuriating.
AE is fun, you'll need some time to learn it the correct way though, key being work smarter not harder it's better to learn basics properly to make work flow more efficient! When i have some time shoot me the open files of your logo and when i get a gap let me try some stuff, if you want!

Ooh damn lol, 18 hours on a computer or desk designing is much longer than my tolerant levels lol. Your portfolio must be pretty amazing with big brands under your belt. For the tutorials, I guess doing it for 12 years your pretty much do all the effects without even thinking about it and probably know where everything is located.

I'll have a look for the PSD and send it to you.

This is the current intro I made on AE (say made, all I done was change the name)
