Hello. This is my Yamaha R6.
I buy it in October 2003 in a Yamaha dealer. 5 month used with only 700 km or so.
Is reliable and a Joy to ride.
With 57.000 km is still riding well and pull strong. Only maintenance and tires. Believe it or not only have replaced a H7 bulb and the rear brake pads.
Is dirty because has been raining ☔ all week.

Wow. You had it for 13 years?! That's some seriously long lifespan for a bike to be with one particular owner.

And only 53k kilometers on it to boot.

I've got a 9 year old bike that's already over 100,000 km by it's 7th year.

And I'm not seeing changing any time sooner. This one have been fenomenal motorcycle.
Since 2012 i haven't ride that much. Wife gets unemployed in 2012, my son born in summer 2013 and she only start to work in august 2015. Almost have sell the bike.

Only rear pads in 13 years???!

Apart from maintenance and consumables ( oil, filters, tires) and a chain kit I never had any electrical( don't think a bulb is considered a electrical problem) or mechanical problems.

Also never adjusted valves, although they are checked and Is needed to replace the cover valves gasket, but I considered this as maintenance not a mechanical problem.

Do like the r6's - I nearly got one for the track but the only thing I don't like about them is that they don't crash well.

Lol, no super sport crashes well. They cost a ton to fix.

That's why I take a sumo to the track, and leave the sport bikes in the parking lot.

I like the R6 for a "little" bike. Good solid package. Mostly over engineered for the engine size.

Nah - Most crash pretty well to be honest. Any bike, if you crash it will cost, the way to keep the cost down is down is to do the work yourself!

My Srad, I flipped it and all sorts and it cost about £50 to 'fix' - That was a big old crash but out again the next day on track.

r6's tend to fall apart at the seams, mainly the headstock area

I never done track days on motorcycle, and if I do i had to get another bike. Made a few with my Subaru Impreza , but last one didn't end up well .
Lucky only went to hospital just in case.
