In this video see me failing to explain, how I go through the everyday chaos here.
This was a very difficult video for me to make, not only because talking isn't my thing but also, how do you explain something which goes automatically by instinct? However, because I do get a lot of questions I decided to publish this video.
You need to stay calm I would say is most important, plus experience will do the rest. There is a A LOT whooossaaaaaaahhh involved as well.
Trust me, I could rage all day but then besides getting even crazier it would be a waste of my energy. Most of the drivers here don’t even know what they do wrong and that they endangering others. I blame this at a large percentage on how you can get your license here and of course the amount of traffic including the complete lack of patience and care towards fellow commuters, not to forget the missing knowledge and understanding basic road rules.
I am by no means a good driver, i have my wrongs too, even so sometimes because going with the flow is the only option.
I wish one day, I could create enough awareness here in Indonesia and/or all over the world with my videos for better road safety towards bikers and of course all other road users..
Start with wearing a simple helmet, proper gear, not using a phone, use of mirrors, road signs / discipline and stop believing that you own or that you are the only one on the road. It's an very long and by it looks almost impossible list to work through, there are just too many dangerously selfish bad drivers.
Too many people die daily not only on Bali's roads in accidents which could been avoided most of the time, with little more patience, obeying road rules, understanding your vehicle, knowing how to drive and more importantly correctly judging the traffic and individual situations around you.
