My Moto Vlog Set Up

When I got my GoPro Hero 3 and the microphone I thought it would be an easy plug up set up but I was dead wrong the waterproof box proved to be quite the challenge but with a drill bit designed for plastic and some duct tape to tape off the area I wanted to drill I was able to etch out the plug in area on the hero 3 but the 3.5mm adaptor plug in stuck out way to far to be mounted on the left side of my helmet leaving the camera angles way to far out for a straight picture. So I had to mount my camera on the right hand side and used electrical tape to secure the wires in place and the black tape matches up really well with my black helmet allowing me to tape up the excess wiring between the padding and the shell of the helmet with out much notice. My microphone I clipped on to the vent on the inside of my helmet angled up to prevent as little wind noise as possible. My vega helmet does not have any padding around my chin making me worried about wind noise but thus far it has proven to work exceptionally well even while traveling at interstate speeds.

Welcome to Gopro lol - That's why I moved to drift as they're far easy on the fly.

However. I have brought the Sena audio back so it can record wirelessly, i'll be going back to Gopro now

I bought a Zoom H2N recently (no vlogs with it yet) and I don't know why everyone doesn't use something similar for audio! I got one as I was fed up of messing around with the GoPro's to get good audio, but at least I can use my drilled hole in my case for on the fly charging from an external battery pack to make up for the useless 1 hour battery life at 1080p60 :(

Being able to record a helmet mic and windless external noise simultaneously is fantastic. It's what Royal Jordanian uses to capture his external sound.

The only problems I have with my GoPro is the fact I can't download in high definition. Other than that the sound and image quality are great and I love that I can control it from my phone which I need to get a mount for my handle bars to make recording and pausing videos a lot easier. For now it works great.

Get the RAM mount for the phone! Everyone loves it! I don't have one but I see a lot of motovloggers using them and they love them

Everything was actually easy to do and fun but I didn't figure I would have to do all the extra work Ifigured I would be able to just plug it up and ride but live and learn. And I have the really thick otter box which I can't use with any gloves on.

yeah i have a gopro hero 3 black. i have a hard wire mic to it. also got a bluetooth setup on the helmet. i am actually posting a video on it tomorrow to show people how i got it set up. still testing it out to see how dual motovlogs will be with my wife.

Is that news? I mean, I never had any problems using the touchscreen on my phone or GPS with any kind of motorcycle gloves.
Well then don't worry about it haha, some of us have to wear heavy gloves while riding though, so YES, its a nice product

Just been through 2 weeks of trial and error with mine, Drift and drift mic.

Finally happy with it. But it can always be better.
