When I got my GoPro Hero 3 and the microphone I thought it would be an easy plug up set up but I was dead wrong the waterproof box proved to be quite the challenge but with a drill bit designed for plastic and some duct tape to tape off the area I wanted to drill I was able to etch out the plug in area on the hero 3 but the 3.5mm adaptor plug in stuck out way to far to be mounted on the left side of my helmet leaving the camera angles way to far out for a straight picture. So I had to mount my camera on the right hand side and used electrical tape to secure the wires in place and the black tape matches up really well with my black helmet allowing me to tape up the excess wiring between the padding and the shell of the helmet with out much notice. My microphone I clipped on to the vent on the inside of my helmet angled up to prevent as little wind noise as possible. My vega helmet does not have any padding around my chin making me worried about wind noise but thus far it has proven to work exceptionally well even while traveling at interstate speeds.
