So a friend recently dontated a go pro hero 3 plus black edition along with a battery bacpac and a few mounts! AWESOME! But ive been going through hell with this thing and i need YOUR help!

My camera boots up, shows the version, and it goes into video mode and............it freezes right there. Instantly. To turn it off, i have no other option but to take the battery out :/

What ive already done:
- I have the latest version (v3.0.0)
- I have a brand new battery
- And i have a Lexar 600x 32GB Class 10 Memory

Any help?

Odd here's a few things to try

1: Remove the card and try booting
2: Is this an OEM gopro battery? If not try one of those
3: Make sure to leave WiFi off, only power on with button
4: Contact GoPro directly or try their forums

nothing really, all i did recently was buy a 64gb Lexxar 633x and hoped that would do the job, but no. It still freezes. What seems to fix it and not freeze for a while, is sticking it in the freezer for about 5 mins once a week. But other than that, i have v3.0.0, 2 new batteries, and a battery bacpac.

Im starting to carry around my Sony HDR AS15 with me as a back up, its happened already that i wanna get some footage and the camera freezes. With the sony, il just slip it on the already existing helmet mount and click record and it will record lol

Get it back to GoPro man...they'll replace the unit and you'll be all good.

Last chance is a different brand of memcard, get a SanDisk Ultra.

Yea thats the same conclusion i came to. I guess i have no other remedy than to send it back to GoPro il use my Sony in the mean time. Does anyone know how long the process of sending the gopro and getting it back takes?

When I got my second GoPro 3+ Black, I had problems with it.
After complaining about it a lot, I ended up contacting GoPro and talking with someone there. I think I found their phone number on line - on their website. The guy was very helpful and when a few of the quick fixes did not work he deemed it a warranty issue and had me send it in. I still had my receipt (he had me email a pic of it to him), and I sent it back. About 10 days later I received another camera and it's been working since.

I have noticed that if I record a long time, then stop, like for a fuel stop or to eat, sometimes the camera will not want to start recording again. It will take a picture or act like it's doing something like that but keeps shutting down. I think these are delicate things and not really designed that well.
