Interesting! In Japan the 250cc, and the 400cc have been more common but I think recently they started selling the 300 as well. I ride a Honda VTR250 myself.

Yeah they stopped 250 a few years back? 300 is kinda new. (US anyways...) Not fully sure :)

I'm currently running a Yamaha R125 as a commuter bike. Had it for 4 years now and kind of just kept hold of it after I did my test. It's getting a little old and problematic sometimes so have been looking at replacing it with a 300 or 400cc machine early next year. Don't need anything bigger as it will still be the commuter bike.

I commute as well with mine, but also just Joy Ride the hell out of it. Sometimes i wish i had something stronger but you can't beat the gas milage. :D

I still enjoy having the occasional pleasure ride on the 125. But my partner goes with me on most pleasure rides so i end up using the Fireblade as I need the power for easy cruising.

Not much point in spending money to make it faster. I'm presuming it's a first bike?
Yes, my first "Motorcycle" by first bike, or 2 wheels with an engine was a 50cc taotao scooter back in 2011 ;)

I will ride this for a year or two until i trade it in for something stronger, or something more comfortable to ride 2 up.

I'm curious -- Why would someone buy this over a used 600 or something? I'm not knocking it -- I just bought a little CSC TT250 and really enjoy it in the woods -- but god kill me if it was my only motorcycle!

It was the most expensive bike i would get approved for a loan on. total came to just under $6000 after gap and warranty. I got denies for a $6500 bike. 300cc was the best I could get, and it will help my credit to be able to get a more expensive one down the line. I wanted a Ninja 650 honestly.

Looking fine sir, and congrats! I just got my own 2015 Ninja 300 last month, lime green and a little less sexy than yours I'd say, but still love it!

And hey, I'm not that far away from you, living in KC. Maybe we'll cross paths one day on sister bikes!

Maybe someday lol, I didn;'t want the kawi green, everyone has green. ;P Also I wanted the 650 but couldn't afford it. had to settle for 300 for now! Maybe trade up for the Ninja1000 in a year or 2

I wasn't particularly picky on color, I just wanted to get on the bike and start riding. And common as green may be, I still think/get comments that it's a pretty fun looking bike :)

Why are you gung-ho for a bigger bike? The 300 can get anywhere on any roads I want, and it's super fun to push the bike into its high end on the highways. Feel like I'm really accomplishing something, as opposed to a bigger engine where it's just a matter of course to cruise at 85.
