Hi All
So did anyone happen to see me today almost end my life by running into a gate, i hope not.
I visited great Yarmouth today, to relive some old family memory's, anyway on the way down the roads were gridlocked so was getting a bit peeved off, once i finally got into Great Yarmouth i thought i would go down to the port, where we all used to go and eat our chips.
It was a long straight so i overtook a car and did the most stupidest thing, i opened her up to test her the road was clear or so i thought, got her up to a ton only to see 2 black and white checker boards in the road ,it was a big metal gate ,the port had shut the road and turned it private, put on the anchors as hard as i could and i thought this was the end, the gate is the type a lorry couldnt smash through let alone a little baby 750 hitting it at over 50 ,anyway kept the bike upright and just fully loaded both the front and rear ,100 yards and i was still doing a fast speed, so went all out and locked both the front and rear wheels.
Tap my front wheel was just resting on the gate ,shaking like a leaf i try and move the bike only to find all brakes are stuck on solid ( i had both levers as far as they would go), 30 mins later and a bit of messing about and 30 fags im able to finally release the brakes and move the bike, all i can say is im an idiot and im starting to get over cocky on that bike, i ended up kissing her for finally stopping or right now i would be in hospital with some very life threatening injuries ,other than that ive had about another 10 near misses today ( none my fault) its been every idiot and there dad on the road today ,i think the bike is staying in the garage tomorrow i would prefer to live another day.
Well thats my little confession, try not to get cocky on your bikes like i did guys and girls, i fully admit im an idiot but it dont mean you have to be, be careful and ride safe.
All the best.
Simon
