My 2002 Katana 600 Build And What Makes It Unique

When most of you think of the Suzuki Katana, more than likely Kan-o-tuna is one of the first things that pop into your mind and I'm trying to change that. As of right now my bike is in the process of being rebuilt, new jet kit, custom exhaust, custom fabricated chain guard/License plate relocator and some other odds and ends.
You're probably sitting there asking yourself, "What the hell is so special about your ugly Katana? You've given it a paint job and done routine maintenance." I'll tell you what's so special about this Kan-o-tuna that is going to turn it into a Kan-o-torque and it involves a Bandit 1200 and a mish mash of various Suzuki motorcycle engine parts.
I plan on dropping the 600 powerplant and swapping in a built Bandit 1200 engine that will turn the Katana into a decent sleeper style motorcycle with only the modified swingarm, beefy GSXR tire and throaty grumble giving it away. This bike is going to be a complete one-off, show style bike that I plan on taking to multiple shows around the Northeast and showing it off. It will be a frame up restoration that will have no expense spared when it comes to the fine details of the bike.
My little sister gave the bike a fitting name that I believe suits what it will become; Project Iron Man

This is what I currently have into the bike excluding paint:

Pirelli Angel GT Sport Touring Front Tire
$121.99
- Rear Tire
$169.99

Motion Pro Clutch Lever
$8.99
Motion Pro Brake Lever

Future plans for the bike:
-Buy a donor Bandit 1200
-Part out all unnecessary parts
-Strip and powder coat frame
-New hardware
-Better Cable Management
-Swingarm mod (Widen and stretch)
-Hydrodip custom wheels
-Re-finish all plastics
-New Chain and sprockets
-Build Bandit 1200 engine to put out 150 HP (Not unheard of from these)

Sounds like a good project, add in pics n vids as you go, be good to see it.
Thanks! I'll keep you guys updated as it comes along, work has Photobucket blocked so I can't post anything just yet. Later on in the day I'll post some when I get home.

Why don't you get the suspension set up first, then make the rest of of the changes later?

Any mods are a waste without proper suspension set up to you and only you

I'll get pictures uploaded tomorrow afternoon once I get the wheels painted..
Tires are getting mounted and balanced this upcoming week
Finished up painting my gas tank, front fender, smaller fairing pieces
Need to get a temporary gas tank setup to get my carbs all synced and ready to run with my custom built exhaust.

Well, I painted some more today, gave some of my plastics a good coat of clear, cussed out the previous owner for stripping the oil drain plug, fixed a tangled mass of wires, andby then ordered another $80 worth of parts off of bike bandit. It's amazing how you tear a bike down to fix one thing and it turns into a six month long project..

I'll tell you what, this project has been an absolute blast to do even though it has been frustrating at times. I was down at Fort Sill, Oklahoma for a while and since I've been home, my little sister is just loving every minute when I come visit to work on the bike. She has something called dandy-walker variant which has caused her to have seizures and to be behind other students in her grade, it's awesome knowing that me being around is helping her and making her happy.
