She is a beast. It's quite a lot of bike to handle off road and even my friends who are pro's say that it's hard for most normal people to tame the 450's. Even more incentive to keep doing it. Only downfall is they're not good in the super tight woods. She takes more beatings there going slow than I do going fast in hare scrambles.
DRZ is great to commute on roads, WR450 is the way to go if you want to have fun I plan on plating my YZ soon, but it's -really- not meant to be rode on the street too long.
I saw a WR450 'tard at the dealership. 11K they wanted for it. It's the Jake the Garden Snake special. But it's a race bike, not a commute bike. WR250r is where it's at for urban assault (with a set of sumo wheels that is). Still, even the WR250 is going to run you 7K... And with the motard stuff you'll probably inch towards that 10K mark.
Wrs are not race bikes by any means lol. They're great dual sport bikes, not supermotos. The wr250 is gutless, too. That dealer was ripping the dude off. Brand new Wr's go for 8k up here. Tires would be another $300…
Love the YZs. She looks like shes had a lot of love. Unless the plastics broken, dont change it, I reckon dirts need scratches as much as sports bikes need to be shiny.
