I was told that wind noise is a problem for the ears, and I would support that because anything above 60mph for more than 15 mins is likely to cause damage in the long run.

I also prefer the sound of the bike and everything around with plugs in. It seems to be more focusing, but I guess it's what you prefer and get used to.

I admit, I am little behind on today's Ipods/Mp3 and all that. What would be the best kind for riding? Just something in general that I can put in my pocket and not worry about it falling out or the wire getting caught up.

On my back pack i have a waterproof pocket that holds an iPod touch then the cable comes through a waterproof seal into the back of my helmet :D

As a Drummer i have -25db ear plugs for on stage gigs, riding a bike over 60 makes a wind noise of about 21db, thats enough to kill your hearing completely so it is advisable to wear ear plugs, its practically like putting your ear to a kickdrum on a Drum kit :)

I've developed tinnitus since riding a motorcycle. Serves me right for wearing a loud helmet and never putting in ear plugs

I'm starting to learn now and I'll put in ear plugs when I'm going on a ride any longer than 30 minutes, but I'm still guilty for not caring too much.

Not that i have that on my iPod
someone puts that on repeat and cuts your brakes how pissed would you be

I think If that was on my ipod on repeat i'd be happy someone would have cut my breaks.
Corners or not. :P

I used to wear in-ear headphones on longer rides with my phone in my inside pocket. Or, if it was dry, my iPod shuffle attached to the waist adjuster on my old textile jacket which worked excellently!

Nowadays, I have a bluetooth intercom which sounds nowhere near as good, and destroys my hearing even more. Yay! Progress eh?
