Music Consistency?

Many of us likes to put music in the vlogs. Bass Rebels provide a lot of it from what I understand, all being EDM or their funkier tracks. As is popular on the vlog scene these days. Some run chillstep and usually the same range of tracks in most of the vlogs.

My question is, do you try to be consistent in what genres of music you use? Or do you try to find something that goes with the footage mainly? Do you have a musical identity for your vlogs?

Personally I haven't used much music so far, but I'm looking to make a library of music I will use once I get back at it. Thinking Vaporwave and Future Funk mainly.

I didn't find any discussions on what kind of music people use so maybe this could be it.

I use mainly music that sites not need to be attributed and can be monetized.

There are stables I got to but I do mix it up by thinking of what I am trying to convey to the viewer. Then I have a general idea in my head and use the YouTube library to find something as close as possible.

I often find the vlogs that use music while talking to be quite distracting. I'm mostly trying to listen to the music instead of the speaker. The vlogs I do use music in are the ones I'm not talking in, even so I still mix in some of the engine noise.

I go for instrumental background music that fits the ride, and I ALWAYS try to site the source in the description. I don't monetize my videos so I usually don't get flagged for anything. I usually try to find new and unique music every time. Using the same tracks over and over again can make your videos feel redundant. I'm a bit of a musician myself and I don't really think people realize how much music really plays on your emotions. Music in movies and games can either make or break it.

Look through the comments of a few game soundtracks and see how many people comment about the music making them feel a certain way.

Oh for sure, Game soundtracks makes great focus music too as that is their intention.
So you do jump around to entirely different genres based on what the video needs? Rather than focusing on finding somewhat similar music with different tempos?

I generally try to stay withing the same genre, a light rhythmic rock sound. I've yet to use any sort of EDM like from Bass Rebels. Although they have some pretty good tracks it just wouldn't flow right with my graphic style. Silent Partner has some good tracks.

Here's the track I use for my intro, I usually stick with this style, sometimes a little lighter.

Even though I use the same genre and style I still try to make sure the tracks are unique and different from the other ones.

I try to find music that fits the footage and the mood of the subject. Overall, I use royalty and copyright free music. There are a lot of sites out there and free tracks can be found on YT, and in their music library.

Music guides the emotions if there are any being engaged in a vlog. I'm not a big fan of music with lyrics as it just changes a vlog into a music video, or adds confusion if the footage has nothing to do with the words.

I'm slowly going through as much of the Youtube Audio Library as I can.

I grab something when it grabs my attention or feels like something that would fit well.

I try and keep music in the background, something that is there but not very noticeable. Sometimes none at all.

I try avoiding music unless its the intro, outro or montage even then its nothing heavy, its light and spacey

My motovlog has intro music that I pulled fromy the youtube audio library.

My recent roller coaster on-ride videos intro music was recode by me. I'd like to record all of my music over the long run.

I'm sticking away from music with royalties as much as possible. Youtube's audio library has some cool tracks that I think go well with motorcycles. I usually use music to fade out the ends of my videos or for some cool scenic shots
