Is there a motovlogging wiki, or has anyone considered putting one together? if not, I would be interested in being part of a group to create one. It could be a valuable source of information for the motovlogging community if it were done correctly. Having a wiki about motovlogging would certainly cut down on the number of repeated topics in the forum, for example: what mic?, what camera?, what editing software? etc...

the site for the kawasaki ex500 has put together a wiki for their site and it is immensly helpful and a huge repository of information. I'd love to have a wiki resource packed with usefull motovlog information for motovlogging.

Cameras/mics/editingsoftware are so subjective and would probably lead to endless flame wars, IMO. I'm not sure the overhead of operating a wiki is worth doing where a few 'stickied' forum threads would serve the purpose.

The wiki it would serve as a factual knowledge base, you can't flame the facts. For instance, most of the cameras and such have their own wiki so we would link existing wiki's for those things, user submitted content such as camera mounting options, mic placement options etc.. would be shown in a manner void of opinion and concentrate on different ways one could do things. As for overhead, somebody is already paying for webspace here, additional cost for running a wiki would be minimal if anything. Although "stickied" forum threads can serve the same purpose, a wiki would be a much more organized source of information that will grow over time. It would be a huge undertaking for sure but should be something to consider.

My flame war comment was based on the questions you presented. "What camera, what mic"

If the question was, I have cam x, can it handle y res at z fps, then sure, wikis can make sense.

As the saying goes, if you build it, they will come. :D

I was referring to repeated forum topics asking those questions all the time, not commenting on the manner in which the wiki would be laid out.

I want to build it, but I also do not want to do it alone. I was hoping to spark some interest to form a group of people to help put this together. Far too much information for one person to gather/review/document thoroughly.
