Hello all,

New to the community but allready having a lot of fun.

I noticed that more and more vloggers are creating commercials for their channels, and I'm also thinking about making one. But what makes a good commercial?

I have three questions: 1. Who here has a commercial? (Show it!) 2. Why did you make it (Where do you post it?)? 3. Does it have any good effect of subs and views?

I have three questions:
1. Who here has a commercial? (Show it!)
MY ANSWER: : - You can find it allover the place. I dont know who has the original video. I downloaded it year or so ago.

2. Why did you make it (Where do you post it?)?
MY ANSWER: : - I made it because i believe in the forum. I believe more riders should have helmet cameras.

3. Does it have any good effect of subs and views?
MY ANSWER: : - i dont know, there is no way to track this. Subscribers come in waves, based on various sources. comments, other channels. Good videos etc.

Hello ariderslife :) (first of all, big fan of your video's!)

I think you didn't fully understand my question. You're talking about the commercial for motovlog.com right? I'm more interested in commercials for your own channel. You probably know bakerxderek, he uses these commercials during his shoutouts.

So really a commercial for your own channel, where you show of your channel and let others know what they can expect from your channel.

Is this not like the youtube channel trailer? I tend to make "what to expect" videos if I have a lot of footage to edit or none at all causing a gap in uploads :P I think everyone has there own style they use in editing trailers/videos. Some are funny/completely random and crazy and some are music video style, here's my first ever trailer for when youtube layout changed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz9TsRCy1Yo My current 'trailer' is a vlog gap filler :P Going to Barton Bike Night on Wednesday though so hoping to get a lot of footage.

I only tend to post it on youtube for the vlogging community/motorcyclists and a link on facebook for friends that take an interest.

Its a channel trailer, and it is only shown to viewers who have not subscribed to your channel. Its your one chance to talk DIRECTLY to the viewer who has browsed to your main page but has not yet clicked that subscribe button. In this commercial you need to convey to the user the following.

1- What your channel will be about: You want them to subscribe? Then let them know what kind of content you make, and also be sure to mention your release schedule if you have one. (Every thursday, or twice a week, or mondays and fridays or whatever).

2- Show & Talk. Don't just talk about you channel, show clips and excerpts from some of your best and most exciting adventures. Let them see what they will miss out on if they dont subscribe.

3- Make sure your personality comes through, even in doing a short commercial, your new viewer should get a good sense of your delivery style, and your showmanship.

4- Don't just put some video of yours as your channel trailer. (which is what I did lol, but I haven't shot my real commercial yet). Do yourself a favor and film a REAL trailer, in which the user gets all of the info they need to know about your channel.

5- ASK THEM TO SUBSCRIBE - After it's all said and done, call them to take action.
