Motorcycle Safety Course is kind of sketchy.

I didn't really dig the safety course. My bike in particular had horrible stopping, I had to almost kick the thing to shift to 2nd, the bike shut off randomly and my knees hit the handlebars. If that's not bad enough, it started pouring out halfway through. Anyway, I do think it's a good program, but the bikes, yeesh.

hmmm .. they should really have reliable and reasonable machines eh! ... its hard enough learning in the traffic and all without having to worry about extra niggles on a bike....

but considering some of the real world maintenance? schedules of some owners.. it might be more realistic!?

Truthfully I could have done that. I could have scoured youtube for riding tips and then I could have went to the DMV and took the test myself. I've heard that test is a lot harder than the one at the MSC. So I just stuck it out and learned on those bikes.

Apparently those bikes constantly get dropped.

Also something to consider is that some people are handing out misinformation. I watched a lot of youtube videos while learning to ride. When going to my safety course, the course contradicted some of the stuff I was told via youtube. One motovlogger I got advice from in particular was very popular. The course then specifically went on to say that what they teach is approved by our highway patrol, and that when we go on to continue learning about riding be cautious with youtube. They elaborated that there is a lot of bad advice on youtube and from family members and old fashioned riders who hadn't really considered safety as much as we do now.

Anyway so those are just a few good things that I took in from the course. As well as new skills and techniques I hadn't previously had.

I still stand by the fact that the bikes were sketchy.

I wouldn't have just stayed if it completely sucked and I got nothing from it.

You also have to factor in peoples interpretation of the rules laws and guidelines you might see it one way another person might see it completelyt different

i dont know what the prices in europe are for track days but the nearest track to me is $199 a season then $170 per event plus other fees, or $2500 a season and events are free, i fought the girlfriend for years to get the bike if i entertained the idea to spend $2500 a season on track days + all the other normal bike stuff i might lose my manhood in the process haha
