Monetizing videos

So I'm not considering monetizing videos as I've such a small fan base and find the adverts on youtube hella annoying, however I'm curious as to how much people actually make? i.e. is it worth putting your viewers through adverts for the money made?

Does anyone mind posting how it is calculated and how much you stand to make based on x amount of views etc?

Cheers.

There's no answer to 'how much do you make.' The amount per video varies wildly. As for "is it worth putting your viewers through adverts," if they don't like the ads then they've already got adblockers installed and probably won't ever even notice. If you monetize them you'll find that a fair number of your viewers will see the ads as a way to help throw you a bone. I get a couple clicks per vid and usually make a few cents off each one. I also only get about 25% as many ad views as I get video views...so 75% of my viewers are using adblockers, I doubt some of them even know the ads are there in the first place.

I'll answer your question. I've made enough to buy a tank of gas in one of my vehicles over the last year. Other vloggers like M13 live off their YT checks.. but of course don't forget he gets a huge advantage from exchange rate and a low cost of living country as well.

There are dozens of YT partners making well into the six figure range, but thousands of regular YTers who only make a few bucks. Odds are very good that you'll just make a few bucks.. maybe enough each year to help you buy a new piece of gear or camera or heck, just a couple tanks of gas. It's all up to you and how hard you work to stay relevant, stay interest, keep your viewers engaged, and keep them coming back for more.

I have ~150 subs and get maybe 100 views per video, and I didn't get anything when I monetized my vids. I have maybe gotten $2 total. I say it's not worth it.

On the subject of monetising videos, my latest video has been blocked from monetising because Google felt I was using video or audio that didn't belong to me.

It's just me standing in front of my bike talking about packing. No music or anything.

Silly Google.

I can't claim that this is me because of Googles Terms and Conditions, So i found this

Look at the average overall for 7 days, then divide that by 3 to roughly get what 1 thousand views would equal.

this screen shot is about the same level i am on from youtube.

Just realized that it is against adsense policy to post any info so to avoid any drama I've edited it out of my post. sry

My last deposit from adsense was about $155USD. Last month I made $45USD, and so far this month I've made $70USD. I make most of my $$$ from my top 5 most popular vids, and really only have two "good" earning vids.(I haven't posted any motovlog vids yet, but soon I will be uploading..)
My average traffic is about 400-500 vid views per day with about 15-25 ad clicks per day @ about 0.20cents per click. I've seen days when I got up to $3.50per ad click, and days when the ads never payed better then about 0.05cents per click. I usually just tell people that I make enough to say youtube pays for my internet service with a little left over. :D

thats a good way to look at it yeah !
