Made Redundant

I was an electrician, so looking at going solo, sub-contracting to firms or even getting my own work where I can

I was made redundant back in 2003 and was out of work for a couple months when the Norwegian company I worked for decided their experiment in the UK had failed. It's very easy to get yourself down and lose confidence in your own ability, but you need to realise this is a company issue and not yours. Wish you all the best, but I'm sure you'll be fine :)

Contract work pays well, You'll find a job, your not the one to sit around & wait for the job to come to you.

You hear on the radio about how all these teenagers are unemployed, thats because they all want retail jobs, they want to work in. River Island, JD, John Lewis & more rather than just getting any job.

At the end of the day. If a bill needs to be paid, you need an income to pay it. So no matter what the job is, aslong as it brings income, them bills are paid.

Looks like being a male escort is not out of the question, no qualifications required apparently, so when I ask her if she wants some work doing later I may even get to do some electrics for her.

Fix her pipes, then her wiring ;) Pure Handyman aint ya :D

I have the necessary equipment, item check;

1. Hard Hat
2. Safety Boots
3. Toolbelt
4. A spanner and a smile

This is what the guys on tv carry around with them anyway, sub contracting looks rather easy once they answer the door

Could get a top box aswell as your side paniers & run it as a mobile on your bike.

Get all the cabling sent to their door you take the tools & anything extra?

Yeah mate go for it, I'm self employed and it works well once you commit to it.

It is tough sometimes, but if you put the effort in and do a good job it will probably work out.

I actually know a plumber who works on his motorbike! I could use an electrician in Nottingham for various jobs I can't be a**ed to do myself, I'm sure there'll be others in your area who feel the same.

You'll sort it buddy, all the best.
