I don't know if any of you are aware, but M13 (Mordeth13) has been involved in an horrific crash and is in a very bad state.

I'll link to his public facebook group.

He's not well off with cash and is asking if we as a community, could donate to help him cover his medical bills.

I've donated and I shall do for as long as he needs.

So, I'm asking if we can all dip into our pockets, even if it's just for a couple of dollars/pounds, and help get this inspiration vlogger back on his feet.

Thanks guys :-)

Self inflicted, Sorry to see him go down really is no one deserves it, but he could of killed someone or caused 2 other crashes. i hope he gets better soon and im sure there will be many donations but not from me im afraid.

I'm not a fan especially after he blocked me for the most trivial of comments, but still, wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemy!

Damn his leg looks screwed.

I'm sure he'll be fine and get back on his feet

I have been asked to send an email out about it but I have declined. I personally don't think he supports vloggers so it wouldn't be right asking for the people he doesn't support, to support him.

However, I wish him all the best and maybe will donate something

Nah going off of what he said man, he could of been dead and even worse taken someone with him.
Well it's my turn to ask for charity. I had a bad crash on Monday November 14th. A very bad crash. I was leading a tour and due to the very safe and slow pace that we do I was looking around a lot and I took my eyes off the road for too long. I cut across the oncoming lane and hit a short partition wall. My scooter and dog both smartly bounced off the wall and slid to a stop...both relatively unhurt. While I, being not as smart...flew over the wall and out into the air, it was great like superman! And then I plummeted about 35 feet to the loving embrace of the waiting pavement of a lower road.

I've broken both my upper legs. And lost half of my left hand. My every hour of every day is horrifying. I pooped today...was beyond horrific...haha...no really it was...imagine trying to poop with two broken legs...laying flat out on a bed and then trying to clean it with only one hand.

Saw it linked on Twitter. Says he contributes to others.

Sounded far too much like I've been giving, now you lot must help me. I'm not going to knock anyone who is generous, but you can't go begging, and you need to make sure you have adequate insurance for this kind of thing surely? Being involved in an accident while riding a bike carries an elevated risk of severe injury, and while you can kerp up training and ride defensively etc, if you have an off, there's zero protection so you need to have a plan for that eventuality.

Can't say I've watched his channel by the way... Only read is request for charity.

A biker down is never good, and I do wish him a swift and successful recovery though.

You reap what you sow. The motovlogging community is quite large, and I'm sure if he hadn't denounced us all as stealing from his pocket, (not sure where this quote is taken from, but I've seen it mentioned numerous times) he would see more of support from the community. I will probably give a few pounds after Xmas when I can spare it, because he is a fellow rider and a fellow human being when all is said and done. I can understand why people wouldn't give though, but hopefully they will try to see past his arrogance in exchange for some good karma.

One point should be made though, it's not as though his income is just going to stop. His videos will still get views and pull in the cash from adsense.

His friend is going to keep running his tour business also. But, I think he is panicking about the longer term. His tours and youtube is not a lot of money. His youtube income has been steadily decreasing. I know when I rode with him in Thailand that he was worried about his future income and I think he will feel that this is a huge blow to his situation. I will happily give him a hand when he needs it down the track.

I wonder about insurance too. Taiwan has a national healthcare system, but is M13 a resident? That might be the real problem, if he is still a Canadian resident.

If this ever happened to me (knock on wood) I hope that I can be as upbeat as him in the video he posted from the hospital. To be able to laugh in a situation like that is something I admire.

I sit squarely in the middle of all of the opinions I think.

I didn't see any of the comments about him denouncing motovloggers (Though I'm still pretty fresh at it, so probably before my interest!). I also didn't and haven't ever watched his channel. But he's a prominent figure, down on his luck and I'd hate for me or anybody else who rides, to be in the same situation.

So I gave him a few quid.

BUT

He even said himself, he was looking behind for too long and he drifted into the dividing wall of the highway. So that's entirely his own fault. And CBRHoonigan is right, if it weren't for the divider, it would have been a head on collision. Instant death for him and at least one other.

Penultimately, if my full income was motorbike centric (and who doesn't dream of that being the case!?) I would have the absolute smack-daddy-with-bells-on insurance. If you're riding all day, every day, it's not about if you'll come off, it's when.

Also I agree, his youtube income will continue. In fact, due to people's morbid nature, it'll probably now increase as those of us who don't really know about him catch up now that he's on EVERYBODY's radar!

And ultimately, I wish him a speedy and total recovery and hope to see him up and about (and properly insured) asap!

There was a thread (and others) of people messaging m13 to ask for advice etc. They got reply with comments very much like you've said.

That is why I won't email members as I personally feel that some members would get really annoyed about it.

However, I wish him all the best

It wasnt a highway. It was a 2 way road that doubles back on itself to go down the mountain... so a hairpin was coming up. He drifted across the oncoming lane, hit the concrete barrier on the wrong side of the road, went over it and fell down 35 feet to the road below (the same road after the hairpin).

So there could have been a head-on.

I think you're being a bit hypocritical there?
As bikers we all do a few things in common. we ALL speed, we ALL ride recklessly on occasion, we all have had moments where we were not paying full attention.
You yourself were in a near miss the other week, which you could also say was 'self inflicted'.

M is actually a really nice bloke, yes he does have a weird sense of humour and speaks his mind on occasion, but he was the biggest motovlogger on earth not so long ago and received thousands of messages per day, alot which were not good too, so can understand why he's terse or snappy at folk sometimes.

He also may have not been insured properly, but he doesn't deserve contempt, not many people truly do.

Why not? Surely it's the right thing to do?

Anyone may freely open a thread on any forum abut anyone they like on any basis. It is not the position of site owners to censor these posts, which has not been done. A duplicate post was made by another member which was locked to focus the discussion in to one place, which was the correct thing to do.

To blanket email everyone about an issue that pretty much everyone is already aware of is not going to be beneficial. I'm not a fan of getting emails from forums. If I want to know what's going on within a forum, I'll log in, if I'm not logging in, there will be a reason, and I'll catch up when I can.

As for supporting vloggers, this forum I am sure would be there to help its members. Is M13 a member on here? Not that I can find, and not an active one if he is.

Donating should be a personal choice. Awareness of the incident and help campaign is running high, many vloggers large and small have put up videos about it, and you'd have to follow virtually nobody not to be aware of it. Thunderous 71 did a vlog on it saying if you can't or didn't want to donate cash, just go watch some of his vids to keep the ad revenue up for hum. Superb idea I think.
