M13 and his new video glasses

Love or loath him ;) M13 has just upped an interesting video on the old camera in a pair of sun glasses.

Three things hit me with them, looks good but its an over cast day so how will they react to a sunny day rides with shadows etc. Only 2gig of ram it appears built in. So at 1080p = not a lot. The cost $350US OUCH! There are other glasses of this type that are available much cheaper.

But interesting to see none the less.

Made me feel sick watching as the FOV is fairly narrow.

I want a pair.... I want to wear them in the bath....
I don't think we'd want to watch the footage though! :P

Yeah they look pretty much amazing, would be great on the pedal bike. I don't wear a helmet when I'm cycling, and handlebar cam would be naff. So this looks like the winning combo!

Just looked at their website, they do some coooool stuff!!

This guy sounds like he's totally stoned... however this contraption looks ace!

Something I don't like about these glasses is that the range of view is 75 degrees... that's quite limited and zoomed out.

Oh dear oh dear, bad memories.....

Basically, on the old motovlog, a company from Canada came on and tried to sell some video sunglasses and I was in need of a camera so I bought some. Then they broke, honestly they were the most flimsy things ever, didn't even get near my helmet before they went...

That wasn't the real issue, their appalling customer service was, and the fact that they had actually sold me some £10 ebay special knock off ones for £40. The camera used cycled recording at 5 minute intervals, which would have rendered them impossible for vlogging anyway.

What I would say is, if you're going to go for it you'd best splash out on the top of the range ones or you'll just waste your money and remember that really they're a plaything, not a serious camera of any kind.

To be fair... you did only spend £40 :P

I know someone who sneakily interviewed a few people with those sunglass cams. You could do some very dodgy filming with them indeed!

I've just ordered some.
I'm looking forward to using them for non-motovlogging videos and sneaky-cam footage.

Theres plenty of those videos already on the net!

Mine arrived some time ago. Since getting them my Contour+2 suffered a severe malfunction, so I've been using the sunglasses as my main vlogging camera.

Old thread bump

I've tested the sunnycam glasses and they're shit, good video poor sound

Anyone brought pivots recently?

Is it me?
I saw lots of 'Bending' on the top half, also that White balance is SOOOO Slow (took time to get back to Full HD after the White-out too?).

But it is New tech. Given time like when GoPro etc were new (380p was the shit!!), with better design and parts theyll be great.
Im kinda curious how in future, you may have to check your not live on YT or PoliceBigBrother.com when talking to someone? lol

I do like the 'Ease of Use', for the applications I/We use Cams for.
Try n give someone a fine for THAT HelmutCam Copper!! lol
> : )
