hey guys so i want to start making ride videos and stuff and need a set up. the camera i was planing on using isnt going to work like i wanted.
right now i can only really spend $100-$200 bucks on one anyone have any old go pros or drifts they dont need any more. just let me know what u have or know of a good place to order them cheap. any help would be great.

ebay, there are tons available.

HOWEVER, remember that you will be buying an older model, so dont expect drift s quality at $80...

I'd suggest an older Sony ActionCam on ebay... that's where I got mine :p ! You have to mod the housing to do an external mic, but the smoothness is definitely worth it :) !

Check the Drift HD and the Mobius action camera. The Drift HD is cheap because it's not a newish model and the mobius is cheap because it comes from china.

thanks for all the help guys. i dont want to have to mod a cam to use a mic so anything like that would be out. so guess i will just keep looking around for a good deal some where. i know the gopro 3 white is only $199 would it be worth getting or should i save a bit more and go with the gopro route should i just get the silver or black. the cam is going to mostly be just for riding videos and small stuff. and i know down the road im going to end up with a senna at some point and really like the back pack thats why im thinking gopro

with the gopro you need the skeleton housing afaik to run a mic

just go drift, Its basically made for biking.

drilling whole in the case isnt to big of a deal i just dont want to have to open a camera and mess with stuff to wire in a mic or mic port

If youre willing to do that, then just go for the as-15 sony

small hole, Under the camera.

Also the drift/sony/ion are all aerodynamically better.

Gopro just works on a chin, anywhere else it looks and feels wrong

I'm going to move this from the BST area as it's not a trading post?

Correct me if I'm wrong though and I'll put back

Yeah, you don't have to open up the camera... just drill through the plastic waterproof case. The camera slips into the case and the mic plugs in underneath through the drilled hole into the camera. I agree it's not the best aerodynamic setup but even with 3M tape on, it doesn't come off at speeds up to 65mph (haven't tried higher yet).....
