Well, there are two types of kneedown: Touching down because you're carrying that much speed you have to (as seen on racetracks everywhere), or there's the kind you can happily do at 30mph because you're reaching specifically to get your knee down.
The latter is actually a safer way of getting around a corner, because you're pulling less lean angle on a bike, where if you were sat upright at the same speed you'd be taking the bike much closer to the limits of its grip and ground clearance. The video above is somewhere between the two but more towards the reaching one.
I remember watching superbike racing when I was a little kid, and then going out sticking my knees out on by bicycle trying to copy them! It's a massive thrill and lets me know I can still lean the bike over a hell of a lot more when I touch my sliders down. Try it... you'll like it! :mrgreen:
