Let's Talk Oil & Oil Filters

The "difference" between bike and car oil is the additives. Bike oils are supposedly better for the clutch and I heard something about a lower ash content. There's plenty of folk that use regular car oil of the correct viscosity in their bike and have trouble free motoring. It's how much you believe the hype and the price really. Personally for the relatively little difference in cost (in the grand scheme of things), I don't mess about and use bike oil, think the last one I used was Motorex, happens to be the best seller at the place i get my parts from.

Cars run dry clutches so wont do most bikes clutches any good as bike clutches are wet, you will usually find out when your clutch starts to slip.
