LJ, one of the great vloggers, not to mention one of my all time favorites, was talking about quitting vlogging because she has gotten so much hate mail. I was thinking that being a popular person on youtube would be great an awesome, but after hearing her problems, not so much. It is great to meet people that vlog and that are friendly. But the popularity comes at a serious price. It is something that has been bothering me all day long and I want to help out in anyway I can. I would really hate to see one of the best moto vloggers out there quit because of some serious low-life people out there that want to give her as much hell as they possibly can. I hate that people abuse the anonymity of the internet, and that youtube does not have strict guidelines for common respect and courtesy. If people are rude on these forums they would get kicked out, but not on youtube. Its a real shame and something that should be dealt with.

I was just letting people know that she may slow down from making so many vids and a possible stop altogether. And that we should all give her some support and tell her how awesome her videos really are and how great of a vlogger she is! She helped me decide on what bike to get after her review on it! So, if you havent, go to her facebook https://www.facebook.com/thefriendlyhooligan and help a fellow vlogger out, she doesnt deserve the crap she gets. We all need to at least say hi and try help her through this! I have respect for whatever decision she makes, after all, she is the one who has to decide.

I began following her back around December '12 and have watched most of her videos by now and its awesome to see what adventures she goes on, and the crazy nonsense she talks about XD! You will be missed LJ if you decide to stop, but dont give up, we have your back! :D

I thank all of you for helping her in any way, even if all you do is say "I love your videos LJ". She is a great person and wouldn't wish anything on anyone, someone who doesnt deserve to be harrased like she has.

It really sucks that she feels the need to quit. I always liked Lj's videos. She truly is a friendly hooligan.
I hope she can find a different solution.

LJ has some crazy stalker/s. gotten to the point were shes had enough. - so i assume.

why a guy wants to belittle a woman proves the man has mental insecurities.

Read this this morning on Facebook. Ruined my day, and from 5:30am as well. Unfortunately, this is what content creators have to put up with, just faceless cowards with nothing better to do. While I understand LJ needs a break from it all, I hope she remembers all the people who love her videos and comes back to it!

I hope she figures a way to either get rid of them or be able to ignore them completely because it would feel a little emptier in the Motovlogging community if she stopped producing content. She had mentioned that for every 1 good thing someone had to say to her, there were 10 negative comments toward her. I don't know if she's exaggerating just a teeny bit or not, but that really sucks! She's not even doing anything "bad" or harmful in her videos...people need to get a life and be more positive.

It's a bad situation. Some reward for posting so many cool videos. I always look forward to them.

I wonder if YouTube could improve things even just a tiny bit by posting the IP address of the person who comments next to their screen name. That and offer the option to block by IP, although dial up and DSL users get new IPs each time they connect. But you can block their ISP. Blocking proxies is also doable.

Of course, technical solutions to social problems are not really a good fit.

Anyway, reading about this on FB made my day a sadder one. Some of you might realize how significant that is.

I can perfectly understand where she's coming from, YouTube and even the motovlogging community has become a much much darker place of late.

She has over 14,000 subscribers. I get quite a bit of hate mail and I'm sure she gets even more just based on numbers and her higher exposure. Sometimes it gets to me and makes me want to quit. Most of the time I just laugh at their stupidity and move on. Sometimes I bait them and play with them. Honestly the best thing is to ignore them.

I don't know if it's because she's female or if it has something to do with the way she handles the trolls. I know women get harassed a lot when they play games online. I wonder if what she's going through is an extension of that. I think some guys feel threatened when women do things that have traditionally been "guy things". I think her can do attitude makes some weak ass guys feel bad that they're not as hardcore as she is. Then again it could be that they just want to tell that "funny kitchen joke" they've seen everyone else doing.

People are stupid. When they think they'll get rewarded for stupid behavior they just continue the stupid behavior. In my opinion the best thing she could do is to keep on doing what she's doing. Don't reward the morons by quitting. That's what they want. You have over 14,000 subscribers. Once a week you should answer hatemail. Don't respond to their comments. Take a screenshot of what they say, including their user name and respond to those messages in video. I guarantee most of them will stop when your subscribers start trolling them in your defense.

I had a guy that accused me of causing someone else to crash. He runs a local forum with a few hundred members and thought lots of people would side with him. He put up a video trying to prove that I caused this guy to crash. I took just a few minutes to slap up a video showing my side of the story. I didn't ask people to go defend me. My subscribers went to the other guys channel and berated him so badly he had to disable comments and ratings on his video.

So LJ, tell us who these people are and what they've said and let us take care of them for you.

I don't want to see LJ quit. I enjoy her videos. She's one of the few motovloggers that I watch nearly all of their videos. Most people I'll watch if the title or thumbnail attracts my attention but if I see one from LJ I watch it just based on the fact that it's her. I love the corny puns and the fact that she knows they're corny. I love how she laughs at herself when she screws up or does something silly. I love it when she's riding with a few guys and then stops to climb a rusty old ladder up the side of a building or tower while they stay on the ground yelling at her for taking risks. I love it when she stops to talk to animals on the side of the road and when she rides in 2 foot deep snow just for a laugh when everyone else is hiding inside. She has gumption. She doesn't seem to be afraid of anything and it confuses me why she would let some trolls online get to her because that seems out of character based on what I've seen in her videos.

Take a break if you want to but if you quit the trolls have won and fuck them. They don't deserve to win!

This really sux!!! I was talking about this with my wife this morning after seeing it on her FB page. I wonder if she's getting lots of shit because she's a female?

I've only had two "real" problems with people on youtube making threats and being a general tool making several accounts to piss me off since I joined and started uploading in 07.(both stemmed from my offroading vids) For both I got all their personal info and then I got in touch with them. One turned out to be some 17yr old kid from South Carolina who thought he was a badass on youtube and on the phone. I turned him into the joke of his highschool via a facebook page I made in his honor. Actually had the sheriff of his town ask(facebook message) if the content owner would please delete the page because the boy was refusing to go face his classmates at school and going into depression after the page was up for only about 3weeks.(I did take it down)
The other guy lived in Houston(as did I) so I just drove to his house and knocked on his door.(he was very fucking shocked) We talked about his problems with me in person. He was a short fat bald guy who really didn't want me to beat the shit out of him. I was going to anyway just to teach him a lesson, but seeing a grown man cry like a baby takes the fight right out of me.

I haven't had any problems from motovlogging,(knock on wood) if you don't count the average troll. I delete MOST comments that I don't like/agree with. I figure my video comment section is not a democracy and people do not have freedom of speak. I have more 130 youtube users blocked, and I block at least one more every other day.

Trailchaser your post reminded me of a troll I had once before I was on Youtube. I started a gaming clan and some kid started using our tag in his name when he wasn't a member. We asked him to stop and he acted like he didn't know what a clan tag was so we asked him if he wanted to join. The kid was a tool. When we would practice he would interfere with people trying to help other players improve. We went into a tournament once and he kept team killing because he didn't like something one of the other players said. He totally ruined one of our matches so we kicked him out and banned him from our servers.

I started getting emails from him talking about how he was going to hack our server and our web site. I seriously doubt he could do anything but just to show him who he was screwing with I traced his IP address and found out he went to Texas A&M. I contacted someone in the IT department there and together we found out who the guy was. I sent him a letter via snail mail to prove I knew who he was. I also got a message from the IT department telling me that he had been banned from their network for making online threats.

As for blocking people on Youtube. I think I've only blocked about 3 or 4 since I started back in 2007. I leave negative comments up unless they're just being complete pricks and trying to get attention. I'm fine with people disagreeing with me and even hating me if they feel that strongly about it. All they're really doing is making fools of themselves most of the time anyway. If you have a large enough subscriber base your subscribers will most likely put them in their place eventually.

Maybe we (motovlog.com) should start spamming the trolls who post the hate on her site.

And sink to their level?

It's not sinking to their level. It's showing support. If you were in a group of people in real life and some person started picking on one of your friends you would defend them. You wouldn't be afraid of sinking to their level. You would step in and put a stop to it. I don't think people should spam the trolls but if enough people tell them what they think of their stupid behavior they'll probably stop.

I read about this this morning too, it's a shame that it's come to this :( I hope she still keeps vlogging though.

and allso, your username seems familiar haha :P

Here's a little anti-troll comment from LJ's Busted Texter vlog.

I wish I could just do this all day. lol

My thoughts are that trolls are generally stupid people who relish in the notion that they are in fact anonymous. So, by posting just a few tidbits of their personal info, it blows that(false) notion right out of the water, simple to obtain info like where they live and how old they are really gives them a slap in the face. I could dig deeper and get their SS#, home addy, cell #, their parents phone numbers and addresses, where they work, and ON and ON... The internet is a very powerful tool. It's scary how easy you can ruin someone by just a couple of hours of clicking on a keyboard.

Now look at some of the other comments made by that same douchenozzle. He left negative comments on kenny1020304050's channel. How can you troll Kenny? He's the shit. That same guy left racist and sexist comments on several other channels. Don't let some idiot like that affect you. Just block them and forget about it.

She used to engage with them and I think she got a few that were just bored and didn't know when to quit. These people have no life and they get off on making other people miserable. The key to dealing with them is not letting them make you miserable. Just realize that a lot of people enjoy what you do and a few fucktards don't . Unfortunately the ones that enjoy smile and then move on while the fucktards stick around to troll you. Hopefully she got enough support today from people and she'll chose to stick around.
