It depends on what you want to focus on. I like doings some keyword research and focus on content people tend to search, that way there is some sort of demand out there.

I hear ya on that ... I did a bit of that, but I find if I force something, then it shows. So, I just do what I want and let the chips fall where they may Most of the time, anyway

I try to do some SEO for my tags though, to get the best bang for my 500 character buck, as it were.
