The most I have ever lane split is a few cars down the shoulder to get to a right turn lane in traffic faster! But I am also new to riding - looks like a good way to save some time and make boring traffic exciting!

Its lovely and legal here as long as you are under 30km/h (18 mph)

Works very well and is nice and safe.

Same as with Lupz here. Lane splitting is almost required for effective riding, making it illegal is like requiring all cars to have 3 wheels instead of 4.

i feel it should be a basic right of anyone on a bike i dont mind a speed restriction but 100% suchs so just try not to get caught haha

In Portugal lane splitting is illegal, but is so tolerated, so normal that every biker do it. Even the police biker do it. Is so tolerated, even the cagers expect that biker do it.most of them even move aside to open space for biker to pass. Of course if an accident happen while lane splitting is the bikers fault.
When I see in YouTube videos of USA bikers In traffic , behind cars I felt sad and depressed.

Is a joy lanesplitting. I'm glad I can do it.

Yeah, it's got its place for sure. I think down here in the south there is a common misconception that "splitting" is what people are doing on the interstate at 110 weaving in and out of flowing traffic. That kind of stuff just works against any shot we have at legalizing filtering/splitting anywhere other than Cali.

I've never split since it's illegal here. But there have been many circumstances where I think it would have been safer for me had I been able to move about more freely in traffic.
