G'date mate. Nice bike.
A rider by the name of Mathew Sant in Canberra, Australia was stationary at the back of traffic and was hit by a distracted driver. The crash was pretty brutal but the dude is OK. It really highlighted to me the importance of lane splitting / lane filtering and why riders should all do it.
There is no such thing as a minor fender bender for a bike, so you have to reduce your risk by filtering / splitting when ever it is safe to do so.
Note: Lane splitting is NOT illegal in Western Australia although it is in other countries around the world in some states.
Also a nice incident with a learner driver cutting me off at the round about. It just highlights that both riders and drivers have to be more aware and tolerant of one another.
