you again?!.... geez .. ... ah well ... us newbies gotta stick together! ..
yeah 720 is the resolution across the screen .. and with your unit it had 480 down the screen ... pixels i believe! ... 60fps ... well... yeah ... i know the human eye cant detect flicker above a certain rate .. but you see on the news sometimes .. camera with helicopter in shot or something.. the rotor blades start to 'show' in different spots..
as far as vlogging goes... the higher the frame rate the more data collected per second .. and if you can have a really high frame rate then you can get a smooth slo-mo shot... i think...
this last week ive been taking short 2-3 min vids , changing the frame rates and resolution around a lot .. in bright light/low light/fast moving and slow moving (on the bike) .. in an effort to at least get an idea of what is and isnt possible... what still looks good etc ... plus the ghost HD and other high end cams also have exposure compensation/adjustments .. which is the part im really trying hard to get a handle on...
theres still a lot of info to be gained though... a few mates of mine have done years of DSLR and SLR photography ... and when i ask them about this stuff ... they get this look on their face ... then mostly say "its not something you can pick up in 5 mins of being told... you test and test and test , learn what makes things look different in various situations .. once you have a handle on WHAT is happening physically then you can start to assign the tech terms and usage of functions in your head .. after a while it starts to form up into useful knowhow" ... or 'go take a camera course and quit bothering me you weirdo!'

lol
looking over the tech specs of your camera .. it is basic compared to a gopro or drift or contour .. no doubt! .. but out on the web i have seen some startlingly good vision and editing .. that was initially done on a poxy low end cellphone! ... so its more the how rather than the what you use..
check the suggested highest/lowest rating for memory card compatibility for the zx1 .. far as i know you are best to get the highest 'speed' a camera can handle .. without going over its capability .. or you are wasting dollars... and also the capacity mB/gB that the camera can use... again $$'s ... the low end memory cards still work .. but once you hit their limits of speed etc then vision can get crappy and 'notchy' ..
last thing i have noticed .. is camera mount points... or harnesses etc ... the position is important for sure... but having the camera secure and not rattling around in a mount or sliding around in a harness is critical! ... people watching will forgive a lot if they know you are doing the best you can with what you have ... but crappy shaky vibrating vision is just painful! ...
if the camera were mounted on the bars of and MTB and the terrain were rough .. then ok the screen is gonna jerk some... but if the actual mount is letting the camera get jarred .. the whole shot or sequence is just about unusable! .. some people want to add edge shaking or blurring into a vid .. which is cool.. but being unable to make it smooth bites! ..
thats the extent of my amateur/beginner thoughts for the day on this anyway
get out there and test up a storm!! .. basic equipment doesnt matter!! ... doing a good job with that equipment will get you Kudos!
