Right now I feel the need to increase subscribers/views to feel like I am not wasting my time filming, editing, posting. The natural growth is slow and requires a lot of patience.

Here lays the problem with some of todays motovloggers.... At the end of the day we all eat, sh!t .... WHAT?
We motovlog because we enjoy doing it, sharing our stories with one another who share similar interests, ffs please don't let that change.....

Vlogging is public and seeking interaction with an audience whether it's one or many people. With zero viewers it is simply a diary. (If no one else is watching/interacting I might as well burn it to DVD)

Crying about only have a few hundred subs is ridiculous. In my most recent vlog I talk about my loss of 1/3 of my subscribers. That's right I went from 3 to 2 subs. LOL. I keep on vlogging! 2 is better than NONE! :D
Watch it here...

I always do my best to sub to anyone who blogs because I want to show my support to him/her. I don't do it with intention nor do I believe in the whole sub for a sub. However though at least 60+ decided to sub to me already for whatever reason. I appreicate it completely. And I don't think numbers should really matter anyway, because it is about support in our community, not the numbers.

Oh man, how did I miss this thread before?!

I looked today and they have gainged 200 subs! WTF?

So who is the mug here? Is natural growth the right way to go or should I be out there marketing myself? :?

This might seem harsher than I mean it to, but what do you care whether they've gained 200? Some of my favourite vloggers, I couldn't care less whether they've got 20 subs, or 20,000 subs, so long as they keep producing the same quality videos as the ones that got me hooked.

Motovlogging seems to be becoming a subs race between various cliques of people lately. And it's hurting video quality, in my opinion, as people are trying to be something unique, yet something that they are not. I'm not even checking my subs count at the moment, because my next personal milestone of 2,500 is a long way away to worry about making a video. A celebratory video, celebrating that I have 2,500 people who clicked subscribe because they like my videos, not because I subbed them in return.

What's funny is people seem so obsessed with their subscriber count, that they neglect their video view count. Not that I get 100% view count on my videos, but percentage wise, in relation, I reckon my videos would be ahead of some of the better known vloggers. I mean, if you've got 100k subscribers, and only an average of 10k views per video, there's something wrong.

Here lays the problem with some of todays motovloggers, If it's starting to feel like you are wasting your time, then why are you bothering, Please don't get me wrong i'm not having a dig.

It's something i am seeing more and more of...this is not what motovlogging is about. stop looking at it like bloody numbers game. it's not why we do it. YES, it's exciting when you get ya first 50-100-500-1000 subs, but you have to remember along the way of these milestones it's about the people & friends you have made while doing it, along with the memories you've made that you can revisit.

If you are all wanting subs just upload crash/close call videos (i know i've said that once before but it's true) people like to see others suffer or get into trouble...to make them feel better about themselves?

It's really sad to see this whole sub count trend coming in :( & in some cases when people past and present get a lot of subs, suddenly they are too cool for school. At the end of the day we all eat, sh!t and sleep....it's just sad that it goes to some peoples heads

We motovlog because we enjoy doing it, sharing our stories with one another who share similar interests, ffs please don't let that change.....

These two guys are COMPLETELY right. Especially the last line of Crackn's post. Subcount is just a number and is no way of rating anything.
I don't care how many views or subscribers I get, I simply enjoy sharing my stories with the community (most of the time, although I'm getting tired of it because of people begging for recognition) and I enjoy making videos.

As far as I'm aware, that's what motovlogging is about.

All about meets mate, I'd probably still be on 50 subs if it wasn't for my repeated hijacking of Extreme and other peoples channels :)

People doing this is why I don't film at meets anymore ;)

It doesn't matter how many subs you get honestly.. It's about having fun, and sharing your stories with people etc.
It's a log of your life and your experiences, Just enjoy it!
I think of my subs as sort of friends that i share things with, If people enjoy your vieos they will most likely sub to you, i wouldn't worry about it ;)
Getting noticed isn't too hard, just comment on other peoples videos and go to meets, the word about you gets around eventually. :D

Though it is great to see meet videos. It's important for people to see that there is a friendly community out there and that biking can be more than just pootling around your local roads on your own every weekend...

I gained 40 subs in a week, just because I nearly crashed Extreme601's FZ6 into a shipping container :P

Well this is making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :)

When I started on YouTube I really hoped to get 40 subscribers, I just thought to myself, wouldn't it be cool if there were 40 people who wanted to watch my videos.

I mean, imagine standing in a room with 40 people there in the audience, all of them just sitting there, waiting to hear you say something, pretty crazy.

Yeah I agree, I love meet videos. I'm just tired of people coming along just to get on the camera and constantly asking how much footage I got of them.

Just post a 1 minute video of you revving slightly at scooters and reap the benefits! Hey, it worked for me. 8-) (Just to clarify, it hasn't contributed much to my overall sub count, just views mostly)

I like to see my subscriber count rise, but I don't make videos for the sake of them if that makes sense?

I enjoy making videos, and if others want to watch them then that's fine with me, if anything it's more of a record of what I get up to on my bike, most of the videos I have are just of riding around and I quite enjoy just watching them back for memory's sake. I've made a few friends from motovlogging and that's more valuable than subs to be honest.
