Keep An Eye Open For This Beast

It’s not a new concept for yamaha. All they have done is put a big engine in this one.

There've been a few discussion on a couple of scooter forums. on this concept. I've copied and pasted my comments from one,

I see some potential problems, like how does the bike handle if one front tire hits a road hazard (deep pothole, for example, or a sizable rock) while the other doesn't?

Do the brakes wear evenly for each tire, or would you be required to change both no matter their individual wear and tear?

If there is a puncture on one tire how does it effect the handling? Do you need to replace both tires if one is bad and the other is fine in order to keep their handling and performance consistent?

Does the front two tire braking change the front to rear tire stopping power ratio, and how does it effect the riding?

Not sure if anyone has the answer, but these are my thoughts. Other than that it looks like a bad ass bike, but not sure if it adds anything to the riding experience.

I have spoken with a couple of Can-Am Spyder owners in the past and apparently those trikes cut power slightly if a front wheel bounces up in the air.

The Yamaha site has some of technical features. I saw traction control. I also saw 45° lean angles?!

Hopefully the second half of 2018 will get here and we all can go groping one.

My friend rode the Fuoco and he said it was pretty good, can take corners but one of the wheels would lift. The Spyder is different as it doesn't tilt/lean into corners. I don't know if I would ever be interested in a 3 wheeler, just seems like an extra cost when it comes to tires, and for this Yamaha, look at the amount of forks it has, servicing it would cost double than usual.

That would be the tri city. It’s been around for years.

OH. I thought you meant another sport bike or something that was released in the states too.

Yeah, Tricity released in early 2014 and then it has never been on the market in the United States. The prototype for the Niken (MWT-9) was released for public viewing in 2015. They probably were being developed together but something kept the Niken from making production where the Tricity seems very similar to the Piaggio MP3 that had been in production since 2006.

I wonder if the Niken will have an auto up feature like the Piaggio?

I was wondering on service intervals on the front end too. Is it more frequently or maybe it could be less since there are two more fork tubes?
