Just A Thought

Mr fish

It's not what , it's how
I was thinking the other day (doesn't happen too often)..after speaking to some people i used to ride with when i was in the industry they told me they were unlikely to subscribe to my channel because I'm on a scoot and they have no scoot interest ... i sub on content and the fact that I've ridden all types makes me interested in a variety of thing bike related

just wondered what you guys think ?

I've looked through the subs and very little from big bikers ...so maybe some truth

It's somewhat true about big bikes VS scoots, but not sure if that applies to motovlogging. If the vlogger has the character and personality I doubt it would matter much. However there are people that wanna feel the experience of big bikes, hence they follow the big bike vlogger.

depends on content to me aswell... but if they have a bigger bike or a bike i have interest from i will sub to watch review, updates etc :)

As the others say, all depends on the content! If it was purely riding footage with no speaking, i'd favour the bike video, but if it's a boring guy on a bike, and a fun guy on a scooter the scooter will have it!

@O8ride got ride of the girl's cruiser and has only got a training shoe now :)

Long and short of it, there will always be people who disregard scoots, and leave them to it. For most topical vlogs, it really doesn't matter what you're riding.

However, put a video up titled "being an idiot on an R1" will get you a million views, and "decent vlog on a 50cc scoot" will barely get noticed, even though that the latter will have actual decent content.

I'm subscribed to more supermoto and dual sport guys rather than those who ride sport bikes and cruisers. I enjoy watching people ride around on a similar bike to myself as I can relate to them.

However, I'm subscribed to many other people that have different bikes, simply because they are entertaining on any bike they are one.

as an honest awnser: it puts me off a little.
BUT if i enjoy watching and listening to the person ill watch it and enjoy it, hell premises 187 rides a scoot at times and i love his stuff

Another cheeky fecker.

I guess there is some truth to that. But, I have surpassed 1K subscribers by doing what I do. And that is, at the moment, CarVlogs (and Cars & Coffee videos).

I know for a fact a lot of my subscribers are motovloggers, and I know they watch my videos. I do think it's all about content, and how you resonate with people. I obviously don't resonate to the tone of 100K subscribers, but I am doing just fine. I do wonder what will happen when I do get on a bike. Will the subscribers suddenly hit? I doubt it. It's not why I do it anyway. It is the interaction (which has been great) and the fun I am having creating content.

I do believe those who ride supersports do have an advantage. People are naturally more curious and attracted to them. Like watching a McLaren P1...I bet if an owner just drove around not saying a word recording he'd have a ton of subs just because of the car. You can get over it, but you just have to try harder to hook them.

im not worried as i do it for fun was just curious what other people thought ...may cover this in a vlog ;-)
